I love some old sports pennants. I had a couple of really old pennants that my dad had as a kid. One was a Big Al from the 60s. Big Al was wearing a sailors hat and looked really happy.
When I was in college, I used to frequent a bar that was covered in the old pennants from the 70s and 80s. I love the old logos.
I'm a bit of a modernist so I tend to favor simpler, sleeker designs. Hence why I prefer the script A to the old Elephant charging through the A.
Need more animal mascots smoking pipes, IMO.
Great thread, BTW.
Loved me some Gus Williams, Jack Sikma and Downtown Freddie Brown as a kid:
The Big E and Wes Unseld:
Agree 100%. I LOVE the script white A. I can see how someone who grew up with the old logo would find sentimental value in it, however.
I unfortunately have some stuff with the stupid-looking elephant. I've never consciously bought anything with that logo on it, though.
If talking just a singular letter logo, I'm a big fan of the script A. Like Georgia and Green Bay's angry G too. UCLA's cursive logo is as good as it gets.
Logo I drew many a time in third grade. And a guy who got me interested in football:
nobody mentioned this beauty... the old MB
