His face at the end of the game said it all. He knows he is gone.
As much as I hate Tennessee , I hate it for Dooley. Classy guy.
Dooley = Shula. Nice guys not head coach material.
They'll end up going 7-5, go to a bowl and end up 8-5. That's the best scenario for them. The only way he'll be gone is if they tank it and not make a bowl game. jmo.
U can't be serious?

I am serious. I want him up there as LONG as possible. As long as I've lived up here in Orange Hell I want them to suffer miserably.
You really think they are about to go on a FIVE game winning streak?!?!
I want them to suffer but still think he's gone
If they can't beat Troy, Vandy, Mizzou, KY (all those games are in the state of Tennessee), and a favorable bowl game (it's not like they'll go to a big-time game against a tough opponent), then he deserves to be fired. I understand he's 0-5 in the conference, I'd like to see a team win a game against Florida, UGA, Miss State, Bama, and South Carolina. Five teams with a combined total of three losses. Tough stretch for anyone.
Well they should win four in a row for sure. Kentucky, Mizzou, and Troy at home; Vandy on the road. They should be favorites in those games.
He was expected to lose this game. This game had nothing to do with his future.
I haven't pulled for Tennessee since the last time they played the barn, but I found myself wanting them to win today. Make it harder to fire him.
In his third year, he's had a chance to compete in every game but Bama. He deserves another year. They have been in every game. JMO.
Looks like a bidding war for a coach between Tn.,Ar. and the barn.
Me think the boogers will be sucking hine tit.
This is what is called backing up your statement. I like your facts.
Maturity is a bitter disappointment for which no remedy exists, unless laughter can be said to remedy anything. -- Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.
Pretty accurate comparison. Hope he lands a decent assistant job next year.
^^^^^^^^^ What makes you think that? Da barn has a guy that will make all the decisions (PFD), a towel waving backwards hat recruiting specialist with special talents ($$$$$), A BOT run by a team meddling used to be multi-millionaire and an unlimited supply of toilet paper and BS. Throw in a delusional fan base and what else could an elite coach want.

Last 2 Tenn. coaches were fired after losing to USCe.
Dooley deserves one more year. I don't know that he'll get it, but I think any coach should get four years to instill their program—unless they prove to be a total disaster or something.
This^^^^ .Tennessee needs to step back and realize Dooley inherited a complete dumpster fire. Another year and he might surprise them
pretty good comparison, even down to the family pedigree. I think Dooley gets another HC job though if fired, but also think he deserves another year.
Tennessee is a really tough job now. This generation of UT fans have experienced life on top and will expect nothing less. However, Tennessee as a program will not be great without a great coach. Any coach can walk into the Florida job and be guaranteed a roster of 60+ top-rated recruits. UT doesn't recruit itself and doesn't have a guaranteed recruiting base. There is no guarantee UT will return to being a top-tier sec team without a program-changing type of coaching hire at this point. Not too different from us in 2007.

I'm not saying Dooley will get another year, but I definitely think he should. Look at the teams he has lost to (and also the teams he has at least competed with). Lets also make a comparison to Dan Mullen, who most would argue is a pretty good coach. I am not positive on the facts, but I don't recall Dan Mullen ever beating an LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, USCe or Georgia, all teams that have done pretty well the last few years. Those are the teams that Dooley has lost to and people think he should be fired. Throw in the fact that he was left with a program in shambles when he arrived and it makes it even worse. The UT fans are more against Dooley because he rubbed people the wrong way, not because of the way he has coached.
They both had that deer in the headlight look every time the cameras panned over to the sidelines. There are tons of nice guys who just wont cut it as head coaches. Mike Dubose also was one of those guys.
