I thought it was interesting that the coaches now have Lacey running the point when he is in there. I guess they feel like he moves the ball more than Releford. Really don't know if I like this or not but it certainly tells me that the coaches are at least trying to find something that works on offense. Cooper in my opinion is always going to be the X factor simply because he is normally going to have a bigger guy guarding him. If he and Levi can play well, we might be able to make a little run here at the end. The key with this team is can they make shots.
I like that they are playing Retin more. At least he provides energy. Early in the year, they were playing him and even Dakota Slaughter some. Somewhere along the way I think they panicked and tightened up the rotation. This team is hard to watch sometimes and very frustrating but I do think they have a chance to get better this year. Just need to play and shoot with confidence.
I absolutely agree with your post. +1
I think they're giving Releford rest in that situation more than anything.
I think a lot of it has to do with releford playing lazy. He seems to only hustle half of the time. Even the analyst mentioned this last night.
Why hasn't Retin gotten more playing time? He hasn't even gotten Eblen time this season.
Cooper has the ability to be our best player/scorer when he really asserts himself. Kinda like he did last night. He just loses his confidence so easy it seems, but when he makes a shot or two he plays really well.
I really like Retin. He is the most athletic kid on the team and he showed it last night. He needs to get 15-20 min a game.
