You aren't a blind homer, mentally challenged or have never had a career before. We can debate whether his career path would have been better staying here for another year and taking over when Kirby leaves, but to act like the offer to go to Knoxville for tons of guaranteed money to run his own defense wasn't in all likelihood his best personal decision is ludicrous.
Thanks to Sal for a good few years, he made our team better. Now I look forward to kicking his teeth in next year and then wishing him well whether he goes after Dooley gets fired.
I, for one, am a blind homer. I understand why he left, and am simultaneously mad at him for leaving. I HATE TENNESSEE. I HATE IT. HATE.
If Sal goes anywhere but TN or AU, I'm cool with it. But this situation fails to meet that scenario, ergo not cool.

3 years guaranteed salary. Head Coach likely to be gone if things don't change quickly, get a job somewhere else and potentially get two checks at a time for 12-24 months... Now that is a great deal.
Hate to see him leave but this is a, I know you don't want to hear this, business decision that makes sense.
I hope he does a good job and also that we beat that arse big time whenever we play ut.
