Their mock SEC tourney has Bama winning
(pushing UK to the NIT)
They have Bama beating Florida?
I saw that tweet....I'm assuming we're on the opposite side of the bracket as UF and we just get the right matchups in their mock SEC tourney. I'd love to see us win the conference tournament, it's been a while.
they're projecting a rampant food poisoning epidemic in gainesville the 2nd week of march.
we can beat anybody in the SEC, and this includes Florida (though this is more like 1 in a million talk lol). But we would/will be favored over everybody else in the SEC. Ole Miss might be a slight favor being at their place, but it wouldn't be a shocker to beat them.
That said, w/ our lack of depth, we will struggle in the tourny. There's always the chance we get the bye plus a good first game draw, but winning 3 games in 3 days will be tough for this team. But we can ugly it up with the best of them. Would be very funny/ironic if we won the tourny. I wonder which would be a bigger melt down on here - us losing the opening game (against, say Auburn) or winning the tournament?

I've heard a lot of theories that UF often intentionally doesn't play their best ball in SECCT.
I could see them getting upended.
Now if they are playing to earn a #1 sees then I wouldn't count on them losing
The way the tournament is set up if we finish in the top four, UA would get two byes. That leaves just having to win one game to get to the semi-finals. The main thing would be to get either the 2 or 3 seed so you can avoid UF as the 1 seed.
I''l take a win over South Carolina tomorrow.
if by food poisoning you mean mass suicide then i agree, we are a shoe in
Jerry Palm @jppalmCBS
probably not. RT @Bryant91092: You think Alabama going 6-1 down the stretch with the 1 loss being to Florida would be good enough?
Christopher Walsh @BOLWalsh
NCAA Mock Selection Committee just finished its brackets, has Alabama as a 12 seed playing Oklahoma State in the West Regional
wow...thats a punch to the gut
All things being equal he is probably right. That said I like our chances if we go 6-1 to finish up as long as we don't tank the SEC tournament. Obviously there are going to be teams that choke their chances away. Temple and Stanford lost last night at home to Duquesne and USC respectively. Bad losses for them. Long way to go.
wouldn't 6-1 likely make us a 3-4 seed in the tournament? That would give us a pretty decent shot at making the semi-finals, then anything can happen. Hell, a 2nd loss to UF probably would help our RPI, lol
Agreed....I think the biggest thing down the stretch is just winning the games that you're supposed to win. Let some of these other teams take some bad losses. 6-1 down the stretch and we're probably the no.2 seed in Nashville with a favorable draw too...assuming we come to play.
6-1 and we would be the #2 seed and probably by a game or two at that. Only way we wouldn't be in that scenario is if Missouri won out. And yes a 2nd game against Florida would help our RPI. Playing them twice, not at home, could move our number 5 spots or so depending on other factors.

He just lost all credibility with me. That's idiotic.
