Not necessarily, if the conference champ is not ranked in the top 10 then they should not be accepted, and then give that spot to the highest ranked non-champion. That would be great and add a little drama in the end. I just can't see putting an 8-5 Wisconsin team in like this year would have.
Depends on these upcoming "Super Conferences" that maybe coming. If that happens. They aren't gonna leave out conference champs imho.

In his presser, CNS was asked this question as well. He basically said that the SECCG was one of the best competitive venues he's ever been a part of and that it should not go anywhere. What should happen is that every conference should be made to have a CG to make it fair relative to getting into the 4 team playoff.
I would like to know his feelings on independents getting in (ND) and whether it is fair or not. Otherwise, I think he is exactly right. It would make it more fair...and I would hate to get rid of the SECCG. It has been one of the best match-up makers in recent memory aside from the nat'l champ game itself...maybe better.
'08 w/UF and Bama: even though we lost that game, it was a very competitive and great game; I watched that game with a law school classmate who played at UF...huge LBer. he got a medical scholly though b/c he was born with a spinal issue. He actually went on a recruiting visit with Mike Vick. Cool guy. Very classy. That was a great match-up
'09 w/UF v. Bama rematch: we know how that turned out...Tebow crying and all. Great Game
'10 w/lil sis and SC: may have been a better game to me if da bArn would have lost. I can't watch them and not hate them...
'11 w/corndogs v. UGAy: maybe not competitve, but I enjoy watching UGAy get mud-holed b/c their fans drive me crazy...and I wanted the corndogs again, so I enjoyed it
'12 w/UA v UGAy: this may be one of the best college football games I have ever seen...and we won!
I think we, as fans, certainly get rewarded with these types of contests. I would hate for that to be done away with...so, I think CNS is spot on...we should just force everyone to get into a conference that wants to play in the playoff and force every conference to have a championship game.
I see this both ways...In most cases I think two loss teams have no business competing for a title; however, there are cases like Texas A&M this year that lost a game early, but were clearly one of the best teams in the country at year end. Who deserved to be in a playoff more, Florida or Texas A&M. Who would have performed better?
