As soon as he was offered, claims to be a lifelong Bama fan, and is now committed to Auburn. Am I the only one that thinks things just don't add up?
1. 17/18 year old kid
2. Playing Time
3. "Alabama ain't no cake walk"
Foster is going to play early no matter what school he goes too.
Sure, but the amount of playing time for freshman at Alabama is a lot more limited than at a "young" team like Auburn.
No they dont add up, but the bankroll$ DO.
it is not rocket science...he looks out there and sees Jake Holland starting and knows he can start immediately...then perhaps go to the league in two years...he sees competition at UA...which means a delay to the league....he may still end up here so yall chill out...he's a kid...and kids can make knee jerk reactions...
wish the kid well either way he goes. UA will be fine either way...Shula is not pacing the sidelines...
This. I wish our fanbase would quit screaming "He was paid!!!11" every time we lose out on a recruit. It reeks of sour grapes. Just wish the kid luck and move on.
Normally I agree, but this one was filthy. I'll give AU credit for one thing, they are fearless. And the copy of AU's statement (that absolutely was not prepared by RF and neither was Yeldon's created by him last year) will hopefully find its way to our football offices and encourage us to keep throwing the ball up 49-7 in the 4th quarter of the Iron Bowl this year.
Foster is going to be a great linebacker no matter where he ultimately ends up. I have no hate for this kid, I do find it weird the way it all happened and the fact he read almost exactly what TJ Yeldon read last year but I'm not claiming some type of foul play or bagman situation.
I'll never understand how kids can say "I was a lifetime Alabama fan but I am going to Auburn" or vice versa. If you're a lifetime Alabama fan the last colors you want to wear on a football field is orange and blue. Even with OJ Howard, he said he was a lifetime Auburn fan but felt at home at Alabama. I'm glad to have him and can't wait to see him play for us but its just something ill never understand.
Overall I just hope that tomorrow we aren't still harping on this situation. It's just giving Auburn fans satisfaction to see our fanbase up in arms over this. The less anger or hate we show from this situation the better, its not going to help bring Foster to Alabama nor is it going to change his mind down the road. No one knows what he may do in the months leading up to signing day, he could flip again or go to Georgia. People say this is drama stuff but we choose to follow recruting closely and we are the reason these kids feel like superstars before they even play a down. It's somewhat our fault that these kids feel like their decision can and will cripple a program because we hang on every word, tweet, Facebook status or quote. The less we show we're affected by this the better.
