Pete Rose has nothing on that move.
Only thing I could think of would be that he didn't want to risk anyone getting hurt on the ensuing free kick. Who knows though...
So did I!
winning by 7, line 7.5 - 9 depending. penalty safety with :43 left, declined penalty/pts?
best i can tell.
There was a chop blocked called on Seattle on a 4th down play in their endzone. Should've been a safety but Harbaugh declined the penalty. Took over on downs and took a knee.
I think he didn't want to risk an onsides free kick, but who knows.
He'd have been up 9 with :43 left and them kicking..granted the onside is possible...but they'd still have had to score twice in :43.
Most places line was 10 so it wouldn't have mattered either way
R.I.P Freddie Parker
Yeah but even so, declining penalty is almost garaunteed path to victory with taking knee, whereas taking penalty and allowing onside kick gives the other team some small chance. I think it's the right call there.
Who in the world is the girl in the far right pic? My goodness...
Bad call - the second block was not low. Genius decline. The free kick could have been an onside kick. He did not want Seattle with the ball in hand.
That's it. Game over. Get player hurt on onside kick, if sea recovers onside. Get someone Hurt defending hail mary. Reason teams don't practice hail Mary that much is fear of injury.
