Now, this is just an observation on stats and not actual film evaluation but Te'o is virtually guaranteed the heisman. Based off of his stats he is no where near the LB that would be deserving of a heisman, and it is not even close. It is very early so I'm not going to go research but the numbers aren't eye popping at all, the only one that sticks out is the 7 interceptions but if you look at the stats of him even vs CJ Mosley they aren't ALL that impressive. What? 4 tackles for loss, 0 Forced Fumbles, 1.5 Sacks? I mean NO WAY those are Linebacker Heisman winning stats.
I guarantee just like the Honey Badger, he will be exposed in the BCSNC
I mean, look at Derrick Thomas in 88, 24 Sacks, Over 40 tackles for loss, and yet he isn't in the CFB Hall of Fame and this kid deserves the heisman? Give me a break.

I actually had no idea his numbers were that low. This makes that segment I heard on espn radio the other day pretty laughable looking back. I kept wondering why the only thing they brought up was his 7 interceptions and nothing else. Now I know.
"Nobody makes me bleed my own blood, nobody!"
Would you like to know why you had idea that his numbers were that low?? Because without looking at it yourself and listening to ESPN, national media, and all the hardware he's been grabbing recently, you'd never know. I have never seen such a better than average producing football player get so much hype nationally before in my life. Hey, at least Mathieu scored a few TDs lol. Look at how they are pumping his 100+ tackle season..Uhh, so what? 7 INTs...nice job, especially when 3 of them were from tipped passes from other players who made great plays but never got the credit because MT ended up with it. I agree, They played much better defense this year, and fought in close 3 point wins AT HOME against Purdue (6 loss team), BYU (5 loss team), and PITT (6 loss team). He is a feel good story with 7 INTs, thats it. He isnt even the best player on their defense! Stephon Tuitt says hi. His numbers do NOT lie, and neither does Manti's. The best player on that team IMO could be that tight end. Him and Tuitt will have a much longer football career than MT, hands down.

I said this a month ago. If Derrick Thomas didnt win the Heisman in '88, no defensive player should win it. 24 sacks in one season is ridiculous. There have been dozens of defensive players that have had better seasons than Te'o.
If Suh couldn't win it a few years ago, Teo shouldn't even be in the conversation.
