Found out tonight Bama is recruiting the Houston area very hard. A friend of mine told me Bama offered his daughter but she signed with a small school. It is all up the young people where their heart is. I am trying to get him to take a trip to Bama to show her the campus. I also know the girl from the little town near me Bay CIty that she is doing well. Roll Tide. Roll
Wow, that it interesting.
I would love for my daughter to play college softball.

Me too. My daughter will move up to 13 year travel in the Fall although she turns 13 next month (birth certificate winner). She is a bomber hitter with great wheels and an animal on the field. Tough as they come. But I'm a realist. I know that there are so many girls that are so good around the country now because of the quality of coaching, training and competition that is now so pervasive in the sport.
My girl is genetically blessed from her mother who was a superstar before Title IX. But nonetheless, the best she could hope for at a real school like UA would be to walk on. I can pay her freight. I would hope she could be that good. We shall see and she and I can dream.
Mine moved up to 12U in the fall and was still 10 on our travel team. She just turned 11.
She is beast behind the plate and at SS and plays a pretty good LF. She has a good bat, smart at the plate, OBP at about .500, but her speed just is horrible. She looks like she should be fast, but is just slow as hell.
We have done agility training and even worked with Jen Fenton and speed just isn't her thing.
I have no plans on her playing at Bama or any other D1 school, but it sure would be fun to watch.
You never know. But a lot of it is, who they know. If they are on a very very good select team or hit team, their chances go way up. There is a young lady in my little town, that I would love to see play for Bama, she is awesome pitcher. Dominating. She learned from the best, but I heard her heart is somewhere else at this time, but I am trying to at least get them to take a trip to Bama to see the campus. I dont know yet. but I do hope that your daughters will make it to a good school like Bama or somewhere to get their education payed for. Roll Tide Roll
Did she sign or give a verbal? If she signed already then no point in Bama recruiting.
Good luck with your daughter & her future. I would have done anything to have my
son be good enough to make the Bama golf team. Although he is really good the
members on that team are great.
It's amazing how fast the sport has taken off of late. Wasn't long ago. Some high school's still played slow pitch.I know my school New Hope. Was one of the last to go fast pitch.

It always seems the kid with all the heart doesn't always have the natural talent and the kid with the natural talent just isn't into it.
My daughter LOVES playing. She loves going to team practice, her hitting practice and catching practice. I hope her love of the game keeps up. I always do a check with her and make sure we are not over working her and her response is she wants more.
We will see in a few years. I figure by 16U I won't be able to coach travel anymore and I will have to find a team for her.
I am trying to find that out She is now senior so I dont know
I have to give her and you credit. That is great that she keeps competing. Remember Mike Piazza that played for the Dodgers. Remember his story. You never know. I commend you for asking her.
I will support her and pay what seems like a bottomless pit as long as she loves to play.
The friends on her team that she had played with since they all were on their first travel team at 9 are her best friends. It has been a great overall experience for her emotionally, socially and physically.
