That if we put a good product on the floor in Coleman the crowds will show up and support. I'm not saying that's how it should be but just making an observation. Fun to see softball stadium rocking.
I love watching our softball team. If our softball team is not in TV I watch the CBS tracker.
Funny you say that. My wife played softball 97-00 and I played baseball 98-00. She saw the baseball crowd last night for baseball and tonight for softball and said how roles have changed as we had sold out games and they didn't and of course you can see how today is
Please the basketball team was 21-13 and won most of there games in coleman and the people just complained instead of showing there support for the team. Even when the football team was going through the bad times before saban got here people still support. I think if it goes deeper than the bb tream winning. The people don't like the coach and I could be wrong but if he was another color we would not be having this conversation but thats just me.
"but thats just me"
Correct, only you think that.
I will own up that I gave a down vote, don't care about comment but please leave race out of topic.

People didn't show up for basketball this year because even when we won, it was like watching paint dry. And we lost multiple games to awful teams early on that frustrated people, and rightly so.
Nobody wants to drive hours and spend a Saturday watching us lose to Tulane, regardless of what color the coach's skin is.
Better to keep your mouth shut and thought an idiot than open it and remove all doubt.
You're off base. The venom towards Mark Gottfried was way worse than the criticism that Grant receives. People like Grant here, but the offense and lack of tourney success is frustrating to some. I think people are going to start jumping on board again this season. Too bad we can't get the administration to change the seating to be more like it was for the NIT games.
I read this part and didn't think your post could get any worse, but then I kept reading. Of course the football team still had support. We're freaking Alabama.
Is this serious, IDGAS if CAG is green/pink poke-a-dotted if he wins games. Get into the tournament nearly every year with an occasional run and I and most others will not say a peep. You are seriously off base and need to do some self examination if you think race plays any roll in this. You know what coach is praised more than nearly any other coach on our football staff not named Saban, Coach Burns. That's because of the results he puts out. UA fans are concerned with producing results/wins.
UA supports winners and that has been made clear by our Softball and Gymnastics teams.

Well that's just you and your racism scars or problems...i dunno. But I love this thread. It sets the table for me to show the difference between Murphy and Grant, and its real simple on this front. Murphy actively engages the fans and the community on a daily basis almost. The guy pops up promoting his team and his players all over the place and is active on social media to the point where people are really comfortable with him. Has nothing to do with color and to suggest so shows your true colors. It has everything to do with having a personality. If you win that can be overlooked, but if you aren't and you have the personality of a pet rock, you aren't going to get the same support our NC winning softball team gets.
And fans weren't supporting the football team as much either in the bad years. That's evident in the ever growing wait list for season tickets that was non existent back then. And lol...ya sure everyone was on the Shula, Dubose, Fran bandwagons at the time.

Your post gives me many reasons to think you're not the brightest guy in the world. The comment about Grant's skin color is número uno though. Grow up.
I can say honestly I never think that Grant is our coach and he is black. He is just our coach.
The reason people don't show up is because we play a boring brand of basketball and don't beat the really good teams we play.
It's interesting you say that, because there was a thread a while back asking if we wanted ENTERTAINING basketball or WINNING basketball. Nearly everyone said something to the effect of, "I don't care if it's like watching paint dry, just win!!!" Obviously that's not the case when it comes to filling seats in Coleman.
