Hearing he fired a few shots at USC west. Anyone at home that can elaborate?
read these in reverse order:
Josh Kendall @JoshatTheState 42m
they want us to play all these Thursday night games. Maybe we need to consider playing on that new network, FoxSports 1" (4/4)
It’s interesting that (ESPN) doesn’t come around here on signing day, they don’t come around here on pro timing day, and yet (3/4)
in the Top 25, yet ESPN decided to go out to the one in California which did not finish in the Top 25 and televise their day live. (2/4)
Steve Spurrier: “I noticed both USCs had their pro timing day today. One of them finished No. 7 in the country, the other was not (1/4)
haha that's true
You can always count on Spurrier to stir the pot.

lol (In Redman or Method Man voice) "GET EM!" ... good for the HBC tellin it like it is
You know, all that may be true, but he just sounds like a big whiny baby every time he opens his mouth. (Baby Voice) "Alabama has better players than us, ESPN doesn't pay attention to us Waaaahhhh". He's such a crybaby
Steve's turned into a bit of a crybaby in his older days but he happens to be right on this one.
The Dynasty is Here!
This. Can you imagine CNS making a comment like that?
I agree def a big ass crybaby ... dont particularly care for Spurrier at all -- except for a few sound bites each year. But glad he's keepin em honest on this one ... F**k USC west
Yeah, Saban would never complain about anything, say like, up tempo offenses. I could never imagine that.
The Alabama coach wonders aloud if the fast pace is a safety risk to defensive players.
That has to do with player safety and is generally about the game of football. Spurrier is complaining about the amount of attention his school is getting, and not being able to recruit like Saban can. Can you not see the drastic difference in that?
Sure, no one could possibly interpret his comments to be against teams that place our defense at a strategic disadvantage.
I'm sure you could interpret it however you want to, but complaining about the game is different than complaining about attention and whatever ESPN is doing. I also don't understand why you are defending him. If you like him so much, you should go over to one of their boards.
No.. Saban has never come out and complained about rule changes or play styles of others teams!!!! Never!! Lol dude get over it. Take off your crimson glasses. ALL coaches voice their opinion one way or the other. Spurrier happens to have his own way of doing it. He makes a great point hey you want us to play on Thursday nights then scratch our back and give use some free publicity.
Wow, great stuff from Spurrier.
I get this point but I do think there is a difference. Saban usually has a big purpose to his remarks. Spurrier just appears to whine. Maybe that's the crimson bias in me.
But I do like how candid Steve can be.
Ok, whatever, I will concede the fact that he complained one time. It seems like Spurrier does it on a weekly basis. You people are just trying to look intelligent by going against the popular opinion and by calling others homers.

Spurrier certainly has valid points, but the main reason behind ESPN being at USC is because they're tracking the QB pro days (did same with Geno Smith and Andrew Luck last year). Doubt they would be there for Robert Woods, Khaled Holmes, etc. if Barkley weren't working out. I'd have to imagine they'll be in Columbia next year anyway for Clowney anyway.

Ahhh, good 'ol BOL.
Spurrier always comes off as whiney or a smart ass, sometimes both. I cant imagine how his players and others around him take him serious. You can discuss, complain, bring up points as all coaches do without being like Spurrier. That dude is entertaining if he isn't running your team down.
CNS complains in a more logical manner that has a different tone to the remark than the delivery of Spurrier.
Where's Ron White when you need him?

Hey Steve, you have no say in which TV station picks up your damn games! You have zero pull. Its only crybaby laughter and makes him look bad. Do I agree that USCe is in a better position in the polls to get publicity when comparing results to USCw? Hell yea, no doubt. Do I believe USCe is worthy of any attention that CSS is claiming he deserves over a traditional powerhouse like USCw? Hell no, not even close! So what if they've been to 7 bowls since he's been there (a not-so football tradition by any means), so what! Capital One Bowl is his biggest bowl there. Outback (twice), Independence, Liberty, PapaJohns.com bowl, Chick Fil-A bowls last time I checked were not BCS bowls. The only time he went to the SECCG was with 3 conference losses.
Steve, relax, ESPN will no doubt be in Columbia next season for your Pro Days to watch the future #1 draft pick workout...or maybe he wont workout LOL.
BTW, has anyone seen the coverage of USCw pro days? LOL, brilliant move by Kiffin to have the event out on a surface that all players slipping on. Nice one Lane, idiot. Although it is possible he didnt by design to take away from any times that could hurt his guys.
“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present.”
Ahhhh. The ole Ball Coach. Thanks for reply.
Spurrier just needs to face the fact that USC west is still a sexier program than USC east. Maybe if he was able to actually win a championship there, his teams might get more attention.
