It is so far out and things change so much, but if you had to put a range on his selection where you put it? 1st - 5th? 2nd - 5th?
It's just hard for me to gauge measurables and all of the other specifics clubs like in QBs, but it seems AJ has above average arm strength, decision making and plays in a pro-style offense.
I'd say AJ has good arm strength. He's not Mike Vick cannon style arm but he can def make all the throws an NFL team will ask him to make. Working on some back shoulder routes would be a plus bc he hasn't shown that in his arsenal. He throws with nice touch and has a "high" deep ball completion percentage. He's very competitive, has become elite at reading a defense, and commands respect in the huddle with his confidence and on field results. I'm thinking another big year he could sneak in late 1, I think he's def gone by round 3 tho. Given he continues to progress!
You'll never achieve great things until you believe that's what's supposed to happen
Late 2nd early 3rd at best IMO. Things could change with a huge Sr yr though
I think a team late in the 1st will take him and groom him. Maybe in Green Bay, Atlanta, New England or New York Giants would be good landing spots. Give him the Aaron Rodgers treatment, 3 years as the backup then move into the starters role.
Should be a first round pick with another year like he had this past year.
Still very early to tell, but if he can equal or better his production and efficiency of last season and Leads Alabama to another championship, then he could be a mid-first round guy before all is said and done. He comes from a pro-style system and has all of the pedigree that NFL teams want to see. QB's are always a hot commodity and will climb draft boards because of their positional value.

I think if he had an insane year he could go mid first. Most likely late second IMO or early third
Vick??? That's a terrible comparison!
Mike Vick is a running QB no doubt, but the man has an absolute Howitzer for an arm. Don't believe me? Watch this clip. Vick releases the ball from his own 4 and DeSean Jackson catches it at the other 35.
Monday night football, Michael Vick, DeSean Jackson, Philadelphia Eagles. Best Quarterback Ever!

Vick has a cannon for an arm. He wasn't comparing 40's
Eat clean. Train Hard.
I know Vick is a running QB and has a great arm. If your gonna compare A.J to another QB make it someone with his same size 6'4 210 ish, that can't run a 4.3 40. JMO.
He wasn't comparing QB's. He was just saying AJ doesn't have an elite arm
Would agree with everything except having a high deep ball completion percentage. AJ is either hot or cold with the deep ball, no middle ground, Amari also saved his ass on a few, and put it in another gear, separated, and tracked a few more down. AJ has a clutch deep ball would be more accurate, as his actually explosive plays throws completions, greater than 25 yards, are around 50%, and that's not high percentage.
The price of victory is high, but so are the rewards.
Reading comprehension is not your friend
I'm not a huge Vick fan. Sorry for the rant guys.
Haha no worries
I would think that on his NFL team AJ will have a receiver or two that can track down deep balls like Amari can, and he will have continued to practice it up to that point.
He is a better prospect than Aaron Murray and Logan Thomas. Zach Mettenberger has a TON to prove.
If AJ plays like he did last year again and improves his accuracy a bit, 1st round pick to me no question. There are going to be at least 3 QBs in the first round if you have been paying attention to the NFL. Bridgewater will be one, AJ should be one of the other two.
I kinda thought the Vick reference was unusual too. For starters he can throw hard and far but his accuracy is TERRIBLE. so would never use him in any comparison involving throwing a pass.
Why not Flacco? He doesn't have an arm like Flacco...
I think AJ could easily make the first round next year assuming he improves and is really 6'4. I mean Matt Barkley still might go round 1 or 2 this year. He is awful
True, but the opposing defense will have DBs like Peterson, Reed, Landry, Revis, Tillman, Sherman, just to name a few, and whom you don't get much separation from, and if the ball is slightly underthrown, it's a pick. Just ask Luck about Tillman, you will not see separation like we saw from Coop in the NFL.
That was a launch!
Yeah that's true too. I do think AJ has the ability to continue to develop and be a dangerous deep ball thrower one day though (dangerous for the defense, not the offense (g)).
Here's my simple logic...if Ryan Tannehill can be a 1st round pick, I think AJM can grow into one himself. The guy wins football games and that is worth a lot more to NFL owners and coaches than some might realize when it comes to a QB. He needs to have another year statistically like he did this year, maybe improve efficiency more and throw for 3K and 5+ more TD's and follow that up with good combine and workouts and I can see it happening.

AJ in New England would be ideal for him.
