flames of the seductive "Bama is as good as a NFL team".Some of us believed it and he beat us the next week.
This year he has done the same and doesn't even play us.
He is envious of Saban and Bama I'm sure.
However, his psychology is still very good.
He understands,"Pride Cometh before the Fall!"
I don't much care for him and his unquenchable ego.
He wants to be the top dog on the street and he ain't no mo'.

No he didn't.
Yes he did
....Oops! I meant-I guess that's a personal opinion
Ok your right. He set us up. We didn't win an emotionally draining game at Death Valley at night against a team we embarrassed 10 months early. We didn't come out completely flat in the first quarter against a good T A&M team due to said win in Death Valley. Your right we had those bad games because our players & coaches listened to Spurrier.
Damn you Steve Spurrier!!
Our Crimson blood is on your hands!!!
OP is exactly right. Why else CSS would comment on another team like that? I doubt good ol Steve was just paying us a kind compliment to be a gentleman. No. He knew this would spark a firestorm in the media, a ridiculous message that would find its way into the dorms of our players through ESPN, creating a false sense of invincibility.
The legendary coaches like CSS and CNS are master chess players--nothing said to the media is coincidental--and the fact that most fans discredit these subtle tactics is why they work.
I used to think his comments were funny and entertaining but now he comes off as a bitter old man. Look at his comments about Clemson after Dabo reaches out in respect of Lattimore. As soon as he said we would beat some NFL teams I thought he was being an AHole.
Forgot my (G). Roll Tide.
