On Collins, you guys have to remember that Mark Barron played a back up roll his freshman year as well.
Everyone close to the program is expecting Landon Collins to step into a starting role and be a playmaker for the defense. They need his athleticism and playmaking ability on the field.
The greatest concern on defense as at corner.

I believe the poster was referring to Landon Collins, not Vinnie.
Our biggest concerns really hinge on who leaves early. If CJ and AJ decided to leave early, however unlikely that may be, we'd have real issues on both sides of the ball.
As it stands, corner is my greatest concern on D. Milliner is sure to leave. I think the DL has the potential to improve on the whole. We'll miss Jesse though. If CJ leaves, we have concerns brewing at MLB. Big concerns. I think and hope he stays one more year to groom the young crop of backers.
On offense, the position with the least depth is QB. I'm glad Bateman will be an early enrollee. He'll still be green, and the drop off from first string to second is pretty stark. The OL will see some drop off in continuity, but not a huge difference in talent. At least that's the feel of things now. Like most lines, it'll take time. The rest of the O should be fine.
Kicker is another spot to watch, as its largely unknown what AG can do. It's also one of the most difficult positions to evaluate from a recruiting standpoint.
Great post and comments. One name that no one mentioned, I think, is Ryan Anderson. Another top shelf LB who will make some noise next season. Very similar to CJ. Very athletic and great in pass coverage. He plays like a mad man. Crazy instinctive skills. That should help alleviate some concerns on D.
Won't Fulton, Geno and Belue suffice?
They've all been serviceable so far this year. I know Belue has been exposed at times though but another full year in the program should really improve their skills.
So what happens if one of those guys gets hurt? Depth is a big concern.
Lucky, I find it interesting that CB is probably our biggest concern for next year but we are not going after any JUCO CBs. Thought?
"Hey, hey, hey. A life. A life, Jimmy, you know what that is? It's the shit that happens while you're waiting for moments that never come."
I'd guess if we're not going the JUCO route at the position, our staff feel good about our young corners on campus. (Smith, Sylve, Washington). That and we may have some studs lined up to sign with the tide in February.
That is how I see it as well.
We have plenty of talent and options along the line. We do lose a lot, but we will have CyKo and Steen to anchor the left, Kelly at center and Arie and Brown on the right.
Tunsil and Greene would push for the RT spot, as will Shepherd and Williams.
Luatua, Gulledge, Lindsey and Taylor will provide deep talent in the wings. G. Hill, B. Hill and Bozeman should be able to take a year to develop, but one may surprise us.
There may be some early season bumps, but the 2013 version of the OL will be very, very good.
Speaking of Taylor, I would love to see him moved back to NT. Be like putting a mini van in the middle of the fronty 7!
Top 5 issues I see for next year:
1. Is this team hungry enough to play through the SEC grind again and work towards a 4th national championship in 5 years?
2. If AJ doesn't come back or gets hurt, I'm not sure if we can win 10 games.
3. Who can become that 4th or 5th CB in our system? Injuries happen and we don't have the depth there.
4. O-Line will have 3 new spots. And we start with a tough game against VaTech then A&M. No time to work out the kinks.
5. Two games, A&M and LSU will decide the fate for the season. And we both get a bye week in front of each one.
My concerns are keeping other schools away from our coaching staff. We have the absolute best at player development so the rest will take care of itself. Our roster is stacked with talent so we will be fine.Rtr!!!
No 1 concern is defense. Two positions: CB and NT. ESP NT.
