...that this could be TE/ST coach Bobby Williams' last game as an on-the-field assistant. His son, Nick, is a walk-on senior WR who graduated from UA last month.
Also, Kevin Sherrer, Alabama's Director of Player Development, interviewed for the vacant defensive coordinator spot at South Alabama but I'm hearing he may not have extreme interest in the job. Sherrer's career path has mirrored that of Jeremy Pruitt's: each served as defensive coordinator at Hoover HS before accepting administrative posts at UA.
Heard Barrett Jones looked great in Saturday's practice, UA's last of the week. Should be right at or at full go tonight.
"Theres No Substitute for Guts"
Jones isn't getting any respect from ND. I hope the first play is right up the middle for 15 yards.

Thanks for the info. Really like Bobby Williams. I know someone who coached with him at MSU with Saban and said he is one of the "great" guys in coaching.
I am sure CBW brings great things to the staff, but Bama special teams play has been below par for the talent level we have. Hopefully, if this plays out, we can bring in someone to sure up our special teams and make it a strength as oppsed to a weakness.
Dooley for ST Coach?
i just wonder when/if barrett gets knicked up, how long the staff will let him go without pulling him. hes a warrior and will play through pretty much anything, but at some point you become a liability...sort of like dareus in the arkansas game a couple years ago
Dooley's not happening(ask Lucky). Saban will get a recruiter for this spot
Since everyone wants to talk about how bad the special teams have been. I would like to say I am happy with the way the tight ends have played.
Hey Trav, would Coach Williams possibly be moving into an administrative role within the Athletic Department or is it more of a going separate ways situation?
Ron Zook has a background coaching Special Teams and is a fantastic recruiter.
Shane Beamer interviewed for the WR job when Mike Groh was hired. He has coached special teams and was recruiting coordinator for Sylvester Croom and Steve Spurrier. He is now at Virginia Tech.
Agree, I'm getting sick of hearing how he'll need help against their NT.
