Please, someone. Anyone. I would feel much better if you guys would convince me I'm nuts for thinking it, but if Bama can get past Creighton, I like the matchup. You've got the bigs to bang with the Heels' impressive front line, and, defensively, I think you can grind the pace of this game to miserable levels for UNC. The slower the better. They do not like to get in a defensive stance for 25-plus seconds and guard you. Whoever dictates tempo will have the best shot to win IMO.
SEC teams have wrecked my brackets in the past, so I'm extremely nervous about putting a No. 1 seed out on the first weekend, but Bama's one SEC team that comes through more often than others.
What's the feeling here?

My feeling is you have your mega-homer shades on.....
Nothing wrong with that, but if you have money on it it'd be quite foolish. I'll be happy if we can just get pass the 1st round.
Anything can happen in sports though.....
I wish I shards your optimism, Jeff. UNC can stay in zone all night and Bama will have a hard time putting points up. Harrison will have a huge game too, I think.
IMO, we get past Creighton because I think we fare well against teams who have one dominant scorer.
If I do, you'll hold it against me.
I can't go for that...nooooo..No can do.
How is a staff member for the Kentucky site a "mega-homer" for Bama?
Chuck Davis and Jermareo Davidson haven't been on the team since 2006.

Best way to talk yourself out of it is to sit and watch the last regular season game at Ole Miss. If that doesn't do it I dunno what will. Can't make 3's, struggle rebounding the ball at both ends of the court, and our PG is banged up and not producing at his normal level of play. Add in a bunch of inexperienced freshmen and we will be lucky to even get past Creighton to play UNC.

Their seven footers can actually catch the ball.
Funny, I was coming here to post a thread asking people to talk me into picking us against Creighton...
Maybe not, but I thought Green and Jacobs did a really nice job against Davis and Jones in Rupp Arena. Bodied them, moved them off spots. You can do the same thing with UNC's guys. They're not very physical.
I think the big key, like many have said here, is can you get some production from the guards shooting from the perimeter? Lacey would need a huge game.
Anyway... I think there's been enough dissent here to scare me out of an upset pick. It was high risk/reward, for sure.
Good luck to the Tide, either way. Always root for the SEC guys in the Dance.
I love Bama but you are smoking. this team will be lucky to beat Creighton. UNC? No chance IMO.
I had Bama in the Sweet Sixteen in 2004. Everyone looked at me like I was crazy for picking Bama over Stanford. The Cuse game blew my mind and completely shocked me, but anyway.
Alabama's capable of knocking off anyone if they knock down some 3's. If UK had missed a couple of free throws, we may have won at Rupp.
It's a risky move to have Bama in the Sweet 16, but it's not outlandish. We play some of the best defense in the field and you never know when a Rodney Cooper or Trevor Lacey will go off for 20+ points and be the difference in a loss and an upset.
I'll be happy just to beat Creighton, then...come what may...

Good offense beats good defense.
Talk me out of picking Vandy over Bama n football. One team is a tradition drenched power. One team is lucky to get to a bowl game.
My advice to you would be pick Creighton in round 1. I'm proud of our boys, but this isn't the year.
