For the record, I think we will, but I'm also a pessimistic/anxiety-ridden fan and can't ever get myself too comfortable with a big matchup. I don't want to hear big time homer posts like "we win by 3 TDs" or "they won't cross the 50". Just tell me what specifically will cause us to win. I know Mett hasn't played well, but you can get a deep ball every now and then (especially with a couple weeks to prepare). Our run D is superb, but they have good backs. Our Oline is a strength, but their D line is nasty. You get my point, just try to give me some comfort if possible.
We have a better QB and there offense passing attack is ranked 106 out of 124 teams. Basically they suck at passing.. Enough reason???
We have a better QB, O line & very balanced. Our D is very sound. We have the best coach & we don't make a lot of mistakes.
They have Les Miles..enough said. Jmho
All of those things were true last year in T-Town. Granted, AJ is much better now than he was then (that could be the difference as some other posters ITT have said).
LSU 12 Auburn 10
LSU 38 Towson 22
Same guy that has beaten Saban two out of the last three times they have played . . .
Those two scores are pretty helpful to my confidence. However, it's their whole season in death valley with revenge on their mind. I doubt they'll play as poorly as they did in those games.
I was going to say that but didn't think it would go over so well.
Because their quarterback is a sex offender and is to busy trying to look up the cheerleaders skirts to read the blitz.
LSU has three main advantages as I see it.
1. Home field
2. Pass rush
3. RB depth
Not bashing you but that logic is just dumb....case in point Auburn playing LSU to a 12-10 loss would imply they shouldn't be 1-7 considering some of the teams they lost to. Also Texas AM beat Auburn by 50 but lost to LSU....at home. Scores of previous games between other teams mean nothing.
I'm not one of those Bama fans that think we'll win because we're Alabama. I think we'll beat LSU because we are a all around better team and make fewer mistakes. My biggest concern honestly is Big Fluke going against Mingo for 50+ plays. I hope one player isn't the difference but Mingo could cause a few big plays in this game. I hope Big Fluke has a great game because that kid works hard and plays hard but tends to get beat by smaller ends, let alone with Mingo's speed off the edge.

No marginal QB can handle our defense, they will struggle for points. Our team can score on offense, defense or special teams. It will be a very tough game but Bama should win about 20-3.
I see it this way. We have an advantage at OL, QB, TE, and Coaching on Offense. We have an advantage at LB, and CB, and Coaching. The DLines are both a push so if our OL plays its A game I think we can run a little better and pass a lot better then they can. They probably have the edge in ST so if it comes down to a field goal over 40 yards they may have the advantage. I see it being two touchdowns if we bring our A game.
We are better in every phase of the game. The ONLY thing they have is home field. It isn't enough.
The most important position team sports is quarterback. Which one you betting on?
^^This. LSU simply isn't as good as it was last year and Bama may be even better than it was last year. LSU is good and talented but Bama is just on a different level this year. And I'm not being a homer. Just calling it like I see it.

In college football to the NFL the game is won by exploiting mismatches. IMO there is huge mismatch with their O-line vs our D-line. I'm not even talking about putting pressure on Mettenberger but they are going to have a hard time running the ball consistently. It turns them into a one dimensional team in which that is exactly what Saban and Smart want.
Our offense on the other hand will struggle against their D at times. They are very good but I see some success by running off tackle and pulling our OGs. A 4-3 base with overly confident edge rushers make me believe this to be true. By pressing the edge this allows for those Wr tunnel screens to open up and then you go back to pounding the ball off guard.
Because we will score more points than LSU will. (G)
Our coaches trust AJ more this year so we won't be so conservative on offense.
So, has Fluker ever played against Mingo before? He has? Oh, how did it go then? Did he give up sacks all night long or something?
