"You must show no mercy nor have any belief whatsoever in how others judge you, for your GREATNESS will silence them all." -ULTIMATE WARRIOR
More power to him (no pun intended) but This guy gets it!
Thanks. I have been to several meets and spotted friends but only competed in two. My first I weighed in at 197 and got 405 on final lift. I won my weight class and the overall raw class in weight to weight ratio. I believed that i could cut weight and do even better in the next one. I incorporated some crossfit and did a lot more cardio to lose lbs. Weighed in at 191 and could not move above my 365 opening lift. Got pinned on 375 on last 2 attempts. Touch and go in gym setting I have never gotten more than 430. I live in east TN and your numbers would dominate my area. A 495 touch and go lift with butt in the air... feet off the ground... doesn't matter... still truly impressive
Thanks, yea cutting a little weight can really hurt in the one rep area. Im in Tampa and there is one other guy here who has my number (Joe Hill) strong guy but we have become friends and trained a little with his group Tony Conyers is one of them who is a near legend in the sport. There are 2 other guys in the state that I look for in meets as they are the ones that are very strong as well. My goal was to try and get to a 500 RAW in a meet but have really liked the challenge of cross fit and want to test myself and see if I can become competitive here. I wanted 500 to put in the top 5 all time for 198 RAW benchers as currently tied at 19 with a few. Frustrating part is I would be higher if the juicers that are above me were taken out but oh well.
