Currently Kentucky is losing by 26 to Tennessee. Thanks for folding after Noel's injury. We certainly needed you guys to make our only win over a average team the last 2 months to be regulated to meaningless.
15 National Championships, 23 SEC Championships, NCAA Record 60 Postseason Bowl Appearances, NCAA Record 35 Bowl Victories
Lol cell phone does not lead to great posting. Ha ha
Seriously big blue is scr*wing us and themselves at the monent

Helps us in SEC standings though.
I've already given up tourney hopes anyway, unless someone upsets Florida in the SEC tournament.
But it makes the loss in Knoxville and our win over the Vols look better. It's a wash, I think.
Won't bother me if Kentucky sucks the rest of the way because (a) surely at least 2 teams from the SEC will get in, and they would be out of the picture, and (b) tourney tickets in Nashville will be cheaper and easier to come by.

Unless Ole Miss continues to tank they will get the second bid. Their rpi is as if last time i checked 20 spots better than ours
If kentucky drops out of an ncaa spot that will leave us with zero wins over a tourney team since November. We need Kentucky to win. Tennessee will not be a tourney team. They have more ground to make up than we do.
This helps us....
Gives us great opportunity to finish 2nd. If we finish with 19-20 wins and 2nd in the SEC, it will be awfully hard for the committee to leave us out, regardless of RPI.
Not to exhaust the issue, but wins over Tulane and Mercer, and we'd arguably be locked into the tourney.
If the committee left out the pac10 champ last year. They will certainly have no problem leaving out the sec 2nd place team.
Villanova's win has to help a little. They've beat some pretty good teams.
The Dynasty is Here!
They are our best win other than Kentucky no doubt.
My point is, a 21-22 win team finishing in 2nd looks better than 3rd. I'd trade finishing in 2nd place for a few spots lost in the RPI.
Ahhh sorry misunderstood. To many have tried to say finishing 2nd would guaranty a spot. Sorry jump to a conclusion
Lets be honest. If our getting in hinges on UK and how they play in order to make that one win better... What realistic chances do we have even if in the dance? One game for the luck of them playing well?
If we get in, great. To me, when your looking at being one of the last few teams to make it in there's not much of a victory. I know fans hate the thought of the NIT but Alabama basketball isn't about this year. It's about building something hopefully in years to come has no concerns about making a 64 team field year in and year out. Big picture - what would be better for these players? Making the dance and being sent home after one game? maybe two? Or getting all the extra playing time by possibly winning games and advancing in another tourney? IF your not winning it all, what's the point anyways, right?
Please don't get me wrong. I always hope our team can make the tourney but if were really down to how UK plays, maybe our best option would be to practice a lot longer and therefore have many more opportunities to show recruits things as well? IDK?
Maybe, but if we finish 2nd or 3rd, we would control that. We play at Ole Miss, plus we would get Ole Miss in the tourney before Florida.
Kentucky still has Missouri and Florida at home and has to go to Arkansas. They aren't done losing, not by a long shot. They should finish no better than 5th, which likely means they will lose in the quarterfinals in Nashville.
Lots of truth in your post.
To be honest I went into this season thinking NIT. But the multiple bad losses to horrible teams in Dec and the long run of games in the 50s has just took any joy out of this season even though I had lower expectations than most.
We finished second in the SEC and won 21 regular season games two years ago and went to the NIT because our RPI was garbage, I believe it was in the upper 60s or low 70s on selection Sunday. It doesn't matter how we finish in conference standings, especially in this terrible conference with the easiest league schedule. We need to improve our RPI and get some quality wins, or win the SEC tourney or we'll be NIT bound.
