Gary Danielson mentioned this in the telecast but he's right...from coast to coast the entire landscape of college football was holding their collective breaths in hopes to see mighty bama de-throned in death valley. Outside of crimson nation NOBODY wants bama to win. Last night gave them hope that the end of Bama's dominance will very soon come to pass. The pressure of staying on top of the mountain was never as heavy as it was last night..but Bama proved it could carry that burden for at least a while longer.
Bama played its worst game since the second half of Auburn 2010. It was the PERFECT storm for defeat. Playing a team you humiliated in last years national championship game, at night in death valley, giving you their very best shot while you are staring defeat in the face. All the odds are very much against you....but you prevail anyway.
Texas A&M is the perfect trap game...If bama is going to win #15 it is going to have to earn it with the entire world pulling against it...Here's to beating the odds and breaking the hearts of those who stand against us.
"The (All In) Family"
My buddy text from a bar last night, I am in tampa.. Said the whole bar was pulling for LSU,
"Quit trying to make a play and do your job!"
Love it. Let them pull against us. Most are jealous of our success.
Enjoying the process. RTR!
The (college football) world against Alabama = Alabama is winning more than any other team.
Wouldn't expect or want it any other way.
So what. Let them be against us. We live in the day and age of Facebook where everybody wants everybody else to agree with them and like them. Leaders don't think like that. Saban doesn't think like that either. So what if the rest of the country is aligned against us. We have #28, #4, #75, #10, #32, etc. That's all we need.

Like what you said except that Texas A&M is not a trap game. What would we be looking forward to? Texas A&M will present the last great challenge we will have until the bowl game. I have seen nothing from Georgia that scares me, and Western Carolina and Auburn are all that is left. I think A&M will have our full attention.
"Touch that thang four" - Courtney Upshaw
To be fair - most all of us were pulling for Pitt over ND.....SC over Oregon....and even though we weren't watching a second of it - OSU over Kstate.
It is what it is and its fun to watch a team that should not win - Win.
Which team are you referring to? Lucky friggin' ND?
I totally agree, funny when you look back to USC's run a few years ago and how the press loved them so much.
Yep, by definition a trap game needs to have something your looking towards in order to be a real trap game. Intent is right by the op just different execution needed
I am NOT a toot my own horn kind of person. Don't post threads saying hahahaha told you so (g) or I had it from the start crap. BUT, lol before the season I think it may have been Travis maybe???? had a thread talking about what would be our toughest game or something to that effect? I listed Ta&m then simply because I felt then they would have a decent team - much better QB than anyone knew at that point of course, he hadn't even played a down in College Football yet. But our history under Coach Saban shows our teams play their weakest in our 5th, 6th weeks in a row prior to some type of break. Our games and our style is so physical it has to tire teams over time. Plus, our practices are at times as powerful or more than games Add in a 1st time team joining the conference who would LOVE to make their mark against the defending National Champion in their house o and maybe add in there we play LSU the week before in their house (g) ...now add we are also the top team in the country this year too and you have the makings of one hell of a football game - Potentially of course.
This will be our 5th game after the bye in a row. The game after the LSU game. The first matchup with the Aggies as conference foes. They have the right balance to at least give us concerns when plays are covered exactly correct - shut down if you will...with the QB who can make something out of nothing. THIS GAME - I thought then and even more now will be one heck of a test for our #1 Crimson Tide Football Team.

No, that game was ridiculous down the end. I was referring to The Underdog in general. People love a good underdog especially when the game gets tight and they have a chance to win. Gives fans something to pull for and emotion they otherwise would not have in a given game.
Im not saying Bama will not give full attention to TXAM only that emotionally it is very difficult to recover after a game like last night. Typically upsets occur after a big-time win...i.e. Bama plays its best game against florida at BDS only to lay an egg the next week on the road at South Carolina. Can Bama win? I fully expect them to...I am only saying that most experts (ESPN Brad Edwards did last night) will point to this game as one that Bama could come out flat against an inferior opponent (Bama vs UT in 2009) and potentially lose.
My prediction is that we win 56-3 for all those who think I have the audacity to insinuate that we could actually be beaten by anyone outside of the the NFL....we are clearly untouchable to mere college mortals. (injected sarcasm)
Hahaha good post. The last sentence being the best. It is tough to come down and be at your BEST, focus wise which leads directly to our execution and obviously success. Hopefully, this team takes today to feel the good of what took place last night - and can find some way to leave it there.
Sometimes the flip side is a game like last night can also carry your team, emotionally for a week or so? The old momentum guy/gal ???
Agreed, and not having any major injuries coming out of last night's game is the biggest thing we could have ever hoped for.
1960 Les Paul
Mizzou fans were and pulling for BAMA to win out and last night.
What a frickin game!!
My thoughts exactly.
Keep in mind that Texas A&M hasn't had a bye week all season since their first game against Louisiana Tech got postponed to October. They have played 9 weeks in a row coming into the Bama game.
My wife was visiting friends in Columbus, Ohio and after the game they went to bar to watch the Bama game. She said she was the only one cheering in a room full of Buckeyes! The whole bar was pulling for LSU.
When you are on the top, everyone want you to fall.
A&M is not LSU. We now smell the repeat and A&m will go down !......hard !
Embrace the hate, RTR.
Yes they have and with being at home hopefully it all equals out and then its just yours against ours - best man win. I think we would take those odds anytime. I hope we get up on them so quick they fall apart. Whatever happens, Just WIN - nothing else matters that much in the end.
All this extra stuff is just that - potential mess that could or could not matter. It has the makings to be a tough one...and it also could go completely the other way.
The price of victory is high, but so are the rewards.
Great post man. I agree with what you said totally.
