I can't believe people that talk about how 'godly' they are and how they welcome everyone with open arms because they are a 'fambulee' would be telling a visiting team at the 12:00 minute mark in 1st half to go to hell (they sang Rammer Jammer). Also, on several occasions they were yelling BS after a call and then as our team went to the locker room at half time they were throwing things at them (went back and watched it on DVR and there were at least 2 things thrown at them). Last time I checked that is not how godly people act. Their hypocrisy is disgusting and I can't stand a single thing about that college, town or anybody that would associate themselves with that place. The town and culture they breed there is truly the armpit of America!
You can't really use that term with a fanbase--I've seen the type of stuff you are referencing, and I've also seen Auburn people be very friendly and sportsmanlike...
And frankly, if we're going to let the worst of the fanbase describe the fanbase, well, spitting on people ranks just slightly ahead of sticking your c*** on some guy.
When 75% of the arena is chanting Bull Shi*......yes, yes you can. You gonna compare one mans actions to that? Try again.
I was also kinda surprised that on one of the technicals that Releford shot, that Aubie was literally right under the basket and was dancing around and pulling his shirt up like he was flashing Releford. I would have thought that it wouldn't be allowed to be under the basket distracting the shooter. The crowd is one thing but the other team's mascot right under the basket? He did make them both but still...
I was surprised too. I guess I've never paid attention to mascots during games but couldn't help it last night because he was right in front of the camera.
I noticed that too and said something to my son. Here is an excerpt below on NCAA rules relating to mascots. Pay attention to the next to last sentence. Aubie should have been assessed a techinical foul. After the first 3 I would really have loved that.
''Each institution is permitted to have only one mascot in the facility during its team's game. Mascots shall adhere to the same policies identified for the spirit squad regarding location, permissible activities while the game is in progress, timeout policies, etc. At no time shall the mascot converse or interact with the game officials, and at no time shall a team's mascot interact with the opposing team's mascot. Mascots are restricted to the designated half of the baseline area, except when performing on the court during pregame team introductions or full timeouts. During play, mascots must be seated near the spirit squad, away from the goal standard. At no time shall a mascot enter the general public seating areas.''
They were all calling Bullshit at the refs--and deservedly so.....but which do you think is worse for a fanbases's reputation, 10,000 of them screaming a curse word, or 1 guy sexually assaulting another?
Wondering which part you considered " deserved"
For me, this is a similar issue that I have with the Texas A&M yell leaders. When an opponent attempts an extra point, the yell leaders will huddle near the goal post, sometimes touching it as they lean against it.
On most fields, there is a dashed line that photographers and the like must remain behind during the game. To me, the yell leaders should have to stay outside of the playing field area like everyone else. I'd like to see the SEC address this.
The 2 techs for hanging on the rim....technically violations? Yeah. But guess what, EVERY point guard in the country carries the ball, but its never called...same thing with those 2 calls......and I'm glad we got the breaks and all, but unless the guy does a chin up and then hangs a full 2 seconds, no other ref in the country calls that---especially the second one.
Personally I think that hearing an awb talking about class is like hearing a Microbiology lecture from a janitor.
Can't really argue with dunk #2. Dunk #1 was the right call. Guy hung up there and ripped around.
I thought you were citing the tech on Barbee. Thats when crowd really went off. And he got that one on purpose (even though the block foul on Chubb was easiest call the refs made).
