a beating an NFL team was in 2010 just before USCe.Jes'sayin'.
Lets hold it down.
NO I AM NOT SUPERSPICIOUS!!!!!!!!!
How about the Lombardi quote:
"I don't know, we haven't played Alabama yet." -- Vince Lombardi after being asked what it felt like to be the greatest football team in the world just after winning the '67 Super Bowl.
Of course that was a peak for us then too. We didn't get back in the NC picture again until 1971, 4 years later. Had to suffer two 6-5 years under CPB no less.
I'm thinking the guys on our team that were around back then learned from some of the experiences in 2010. 2012 will be different.
It's been pissing me off. I feel like its a media endeavor to get our players off focus. What is unfortunate is our incredibly moronic segment of our fan base which is perpetuating the should be non question.
Why is it even being mentioned for effs sake.
I agree with Fast Eddie. When I heard this, 2010 hype was the first thing that came to mind.
Anybody can be beat on any given day. Regardless how much Coach Saban fights to maintain the team's right mindset, if enough is said for an extended length of time, it could be harmful...period...
They're mature young men, but they're still young men. And I can tell you guys this after thirty years of watching and studying the game: We have a very sound football team that is extremely well coached. But, we're not necessarily world beaters. Sound talent, but not elite. Honestly, I think the younger players that are playing have a good bit more talent than some of the veterans. Those will eventually be elite. And those are the ones that we need to worry about listening to all this praise.
All that being said, I think this team gets it done. They don't just refuse to lose, but they refuse to play down to someone else level and are very consistent maintaining a standard. A team full of kids who do their job almost every play.....
Surely, "Superstitious" is the intended word. Or IS it???

Whether he did it intentionally or not, it's awesome and definitely needs to be added as the newest BOLism.
I so agree!
Very superspicious, writing's on the wall...
Read the OPs post. Still not sure what was said...
The price of victory is high, but so are the rewards.
Everyone seems convinced that Spurrier said this deliberately to get in our players' heads...here's what I want to know: what, exactly, does he gain from this?
I don't understand why people think this. Why should he care about this? Maybe I'm missing something?
I have been thinking the same thing all week.
