teams at Bama (besides the championships of course) is that they are tough. Physically and mentally. That is what made me a Bama fan to begin with. Tough. We lost some of that along the way from Bear- Saban. I've never been a fan of the point a minute, smoke and mirrors type teams. Didn't care for UF nor FSU's style during their heydey. Stallings teams were tough but didn't have the across the board talent to make it stick. Teams hate playing us now. For reasons other than the automatic L. *Sips beer and smiles....RTR
100% agree with this. The comebacks on the coach Fran and Shula teams used to drive me nuts. Those teams had no punch to them. They tried to finesse teams and that stuff just does not make me a fan. I would rather see a 6-3 final score with solid team defense and fundamentally sound running than a 43-56 shootout any day.
The best thing he said when he started was that he would make Bama a team that everyone hated to play, which he obviously has. Not just because you'll lose the game but because you'll be beaten up on every play and our guys just come after you and never stop.
You get a talented team to play like that and everything else will take care of itself.
