...you worry about when it comes to a lack of practice time leading up to a bowl/championship game. Young guys like Denzel Devall, for instance, need every rep they can get at this point in their careers. With 49 career starts to his credit, Barrett Jones isn't one of those guys. Here's guessing he won't be 100 percent for Notre Dame, but what Jones is or isn't doing at this point of preparations probably isn't a good indicator of how effective he'll be against the Irish. We won't know that until Jan. 7. For now, get the foot as healthy as you possibly can.
Well said. I'm sure Barrett has a decent grasp of his assignments.
Never Gets Old
Like I said in another thread, him missing practice doesn't concern me. He can absorb the game plan thru mental reps film etc.
My concern is S&C.

You get the impression that kid would hold his own out there with one leg amputated prior to kick off. Love me some Barrett Jones.
Hard to simulate game stamina but Cochran and his staff come close. In fact, most players would tell you that they'd rather practice than spend time with Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah! Haha!
Yes, much more concerned from a conditioning standpoint, but I'm sure Coach Cochran knows how to keep players in reasonable shape under every injury condition imaginable.
The guy never took notes in class and made A's and A+'s in accounting. He'll be ready.
On Alabama: CeCe Jefferson - "It was a bunch of beautiful women..." Reggie Ragland - "oh the females of course..."
Anybody know Who is playing center in his place. Maybe thats who will be center next year??
You are right of course, but it is such a 'thread-stopper'. :)
Solid post TR.
Ryan Kelly and all indications point to him being the Center next year and reports indicate that he would do a pretty good job this year if he had to go. Size would be the biggest issue and it was reported if he played then he would require a little more Guard help in blocking ND's line.
Give me a banged up BJ over any other NCAA center - what he has done in his Alabama career is nothing short of awe-inspiring. My only concern is whether or not the C/QB synergy will be disrupted because of this long layover and AJ practicing with Kelly. With as much experience as they have together, I don't think that will be an issue.
