Just read on another site something very interesting.....
Supposedly when a player begins his recruiting process, as a Jr. his transcripts are sent to any potential colleges. Another SEC school (who was in the mix for his sig.) had his Jr. yr transcripts in JR's file, and when his Sr yr transcripts arrived, there were discrepancies. It sounds as if the grades from his Jr. yr, were different on the 2nd transcript. It was also stated that this college contacted the NCAA and turned over both transcripts.
How true all of this is I do not know....Just repeating a post. However, it certainly makes you think through many ways all of this could have hit the fan...
About 50% of the Barners are wondering when he will be declared eligible....they are lost on this one! Pure entertainment over there...Also, PM has promised an update shortly...
Ole Miss backed away from his recruitment if that tells you anything lol
It might be too much to hope they finally get in trouble. (after Camgate) However, a nice long investigation might hurt their recruiting...
Yes, that was the other SEC school mentioned.
He hasn't played a game yet and unless someone can prove that Auburn forced the grade change nothing will happen other than him being declared ineligible.
You haven't seen what TennStud posted this morning, have you?
Care to elaborate what tennstud posted..
We all know this. It's a grand weekend knowing that the Barners are having a rotten weekend. At the very least, they have lost another one (a 4* to boot!)
Details for those of us that missed it. TIA TIA.....
Yes, I haven't found it. Getting very curious!
JMHO here. The NCAA will get au sooner or later. Don't get caught up in the details of what gets them. This is power vs power.
As a wise poster (Walls98) said long ago. au sold their soul for a NC. Welcome to your hell au.
That not true. The standard also includes whether or not auburn should have known that his transcript was false. Therefore, if they had reason to believe that he never should have qualified and they simply "ignore" a possibly false document in order to get him eligible then it could also get them in trouble as well.
Yes...Auburn got desperate when TJ Yeldon flipped to Bama and screwed up. No one is perfect....
Some people bring a knife to a gun fight. Mark Richt brings a Super Soaker 2000.
Yes, if Ole' MS saw it was changed...the Barn should have seen the problem also.
And just to throw some gas on this thread, at least two other universities saw the obvious discrepancies. That tells you all you need to know. Both of these universities are involved in the investigation. The question lingers. How can at least to other universities see the obvious discrepancies and AU "Missed," it. This is the overriding questions that are driving the informal investigation deeper.
In Camgate, where everything was presumably done on a cash basis, if the parties don't blab, NCAA has no case-- i.e. no documents.
This case is all ABOUT documents. All the NCAA would have to show is that AU had a transcript from his junior year. NCAA doesn't have to find or prove a bagman this time.
Auburn can't play dumb with transcripts.

IMO, I think this hurts their academic reputation more than anything. SACS should be all over them if these allegations are proven true.
