Their first rematch since the infamous 2002 Iron bowl. I still think Fran half-assed that game ...

2002 Iron bowl and he didn't half ass anything, he flat out gave it away.
He didn't even half ass it. He gave no effort whatsoever. He was busy securing his new job.

my bad..fixed it
Oh that game brings up bad memories of ole Dennis (hold the rope) Franchione...
I hope they go into 20 overtimes and both have to go to the hospital due to stress! I would say worse, but ....
awful ending to a good year
“It goes back to the analogy of if you’re hanging over the edge of a cliff, you want someone that will hang on to that rope for you,” Franchione explained. “You don’t want someone whose hands might slip. Even if the rope is tearing at the skin and their hands are bleeding, they still hang on.
“It’s about a shared common vision. Hold the rope. You want them to trust you to hold on and for you to trust them.”
Always and forever will be Franchi-phoney to me
I know it's impossible but I hope they both lose
Never Gets Old
I actually heard that through a nasally voice in my head. My moobs just grew a cup size as well.
I'm torn here. I want Tubbs to lose just because... I want Fran to lose at everything with which he is ever associated. I won't go so far as saying that I wish he would lose his soul but it was probably sold long ago anyway.
Fran! The only coach who made "Hold the rope" sound almost as bad as when a Penn State coach says it.
Isn't it funny how the grass always seems greener on the other side? You think Fran wishes he would have never left to go to A&M? I personally don't think he would have made it anyways. The players hated him and didn't respect him. I was at UA during this time and worked on the strip..
I know I am in the minority but I thought then, and still do, that Franchione is a pretty good coach. Certainly not a very good person as it turned out but a pretty good coach -- in fact, my anger with Franchione leaving was very much directed at the fact that he seemed to have the program headed on the right track and bolted.
Go back and watch that 2002 Alabama-Oklahoma game or most any other game that season (sans Auburn) and Alabama was sometimes outmatched but always came out prepared, had an identity, and executed at a very high level. Keep in mind that Alabama would have represented the West in a rematch vs. Georgia in the 2002 SEC Championship Game if not for the sanctions.
Are we ultimately much better off now with Nick Saban? Absolutely. If he had stayed, would Franchione have put a considerably better product on the field at Alabama from 2002 through 2006? Again, I think he absolutely would have and may have had Alabama in contention in the West during some of those years.

He gave that game to the Barn he is a low life trader in my book i will pull for TT to win.
We got an autographed football from Fran for a raffle when I was in school. He left before we could give it away so I ended up with it. Any ideas what to do with it? We shot all of our Fran bobbleheads.
Tubbs better watch out for SouthWest Texas State this Saturday. They whooped Houston last week
