Best freshmen in Bama's 2013 Class.....???
****This thread will be bumped at the end of the 2013 Season****
"Football skill" is the best predictor of football success.
You get out of it what you put into it!
Tyren was the top RB in the country for the 2013 class, IMO. However, I do think Henry is an exception to the rule. Watching him run in the Army AA game, I was blown away. I really think he can be an elite back as well.
Of course, Kamara is a different kind of back and is elite in his own right. It's hard to draw one up that looks better than Tenpenny. They are all fantastic and I'm glad we got all of them. Tyren is the best but they can all be great.

"The (All In) Family"
Henry = Antowain Smith. From Millbrook, Al 1st rounder. Started in 2 super bowl wins for the Pats. Both 6'2"+ and athletic.
Pro bowl starters
I'm just sayin'........
If you have the balance, that longer stride can make a big difference.
I'll bite... I won't compete on stat knowledge, but over the past 10 or so yrs, what is the average height of an NFL RB? If its roughly 5'9', then the best backs make sense. Just like some QBs having legs in the modern game or TEs who can catch, we've seen a trend of both big pounding backs and tiny scat backs more recently.
Also, the best rookie backs (and I honestly believe this) are a product of the system. No doubt they're great RBs, but a team committed to running with a good O-line will have a good RB. Trent got his yards due to the amount of carries and brute force... The dude got close to zero blocking.
So I'm not disagreeing, but I don't know what you're trying to prove with this info? We all know you have man love for Tyren... And orobably deservedly so. Hope he can pass protect.
Jim Brown 6'2. 232
Eric Dickerson 6'2 220
Bo Jacskon 6'1 220
Marcus Allen 6'1 210

Never Gets Old
Eddie George has to be up there.
There are lies , damn lies and statistics.
Aubies have manipulated stats for years to make there history look better than ours,,, using certain segments and time frames.
However, I don't really doubt BBD, Jones is a stud and I look forward to watching him play, it is an embarrassment of riches really.
Fwiw I see Henry in a role similar to Fowler and Jones will be a feature back, or as close as we will see in a Saban offense.
I don't know who will end up on top, but I'm going to just sit back, smile and watch.
