of course this is the nfl...nobody runs it anymore
"Nobody makes me bleed my own blood, nobody!"
Not even close to true. The run game is extremely important, and borderline essential, to success in the NFL. Even the Patriots run it 25 times a game and they have one of the most prolific pass attacks in the history of the league. The Packers are one of the only exceptions I can think of and they are really struggling this year without some sort of a supplemental run game.
If you want to see what football looks like when it places little emphasis on establishing the run, take a look at college football anywhere outside of Tuscaloosa (and to a lesser extent outside the SEC).
When you draft a guy like Trent you're getting someone who wants to help his team win moreso than cashing a check. Accountability. Trent is bringing the process to Cleveland himself.
I know a coach down south who would correct that....OH! He ain't coming.
You can also add the Saints in there as well that are prolific passing teams that are struggling because they abandoned the run.
But I concur, the run game isn't as emphasized as it has been in the past but the successful pass first teams still run the ball consistently....
Ridiculous is what it is
Nothing here folks move alone...Can you believe the nerve of Trent? I just don't understand why a record breaking running back would want to run the ball. Go figure..
I have not watched any this year but in the past you needed to run the ball in the playoffs to win it all.
i was being sarcastic
