Anyone with any knowledge of how people come back from concussion. Is there any way that Wilson is cleared to play Saturday. If I had to guess I would say no but their coach seems like he is trying his best to get him to play on Saturday. I know they are probably dragging this out to make Bama prepare but Bama will prepare the same way regardless of who the quarterback is. I will be very surprised if he is dressed on Saturday but I guess different people heal from injuries quicker than others. Anyone have any experience with concussions.
Based on my understanding, there are three grades of concussions: 1,2 and 3. Basically, if the concussion is a "Grade 1" concussion it is recommended you sit out for 1 week, grade 2 two weeks, grade 3, three weeks. I believe the grade reflects the amount of damage to/swelling of the brain. I have had two concussions in my life, both diagnosed as Grade 2 concussions. Both times, I was required by a doctor to sit out at least two weeks then be reevaluated prior to receiving clearance to return to playing.

he will NOT play Saturday.
Jesse Williams had one of the most minor concussions you can get, and he was still held out for a game. Tyler's was MUCH worse, with a MUCH higher grade of symptoms...that should tell you all you need to know.
1960 Les Paul
He's not playing.....ask Vegas.
Listen, I'm just throwing this out there, but I promise he isn't going to play. It is a medical doctor decision and no matter how bad the coaches or fans want him to play he cant. I played football in high school and walked on at Troy. During my junior high season, I had a mild concussion during the second half of the game. I finished playing the game and went to the hospital after the game bc of dizziness and headaches. Concussion education was not that great as it is now. Well I was fine sunday and we started practice. I sat out mon and tues but returned we'd bc of the coaches rule to practice we'd or u wont play Friday. Well I practiced and felt fine all week, e hospitalwe were toward the end of the season, we were not hitting hard at practice. During our game Friday night, I started and played thru the first quarter. Well on a kickoff, I was blocking and got my bell rung. I was totally out. Went to the hospital with a Grade III concussion. I don't remember anything from that day. It was scary. I almost never played football again. If I had, had another concussion, I wouldn't been able to ever play again. In saying that, if my coach and medical staff would have kept me out, that concussion would have not have happened and the bad effects that happen to me today from that head injury would not be going on. My coaches and staff are great, they just didn't have the education on concussions that they do today. If that all happened to me, a nobody, it would certainly happen to an all sec qb that is looking at the pros. I hope those coaches have Wilson's best interests at heart bc the first real good lick we put on Wilson, he is done. And I promise it is going to b worse of a head injury than last sat bc he still has a mild head injury going into sat. Sorry so long just wanted to give some advise. RTR 4 LIFE!
No way he would play if he were my son.
He's got a future in the NFL, not worth losing all that because Bama comes to town.
Not to mention, I think he's had a concussion before, making it more dangerous to speed him back to the playing field
According to John L. Smith, he threw the ball some today on the sidelines.

So he played pitch and catch?
I believe he did. Yes.
