I seriously don't know why an NFL team would draft this guy.
Christopher Walsh covers Alabama football for BamaOnline, 247Sports, and is the author of 18 books.
Not as depressed as he was after the game.
Way too many words spent on that dude. He did do a little better at the combine than I thought he would, but he is a risk.. and I am not sure there is much of a reward.
Agreed, total head case.
He has a Forever Young tattoo? WTF?
"Because Bama now sucks just like FSU used to suck when we were getting dominated by OU. Does it make sense now?"- Sliger (FSU Fan)
Loser, straight up. He is the definition of a loser.
I'm really not sure what that article was trying to convey. He is an immature brat and has blown his whole situation out of proportion. Reminded me of the movie Half Baked when Dave Chappelle goes to the narcotics anonymous meeting for his weed "addiction". At the height of Mathieu's addiction he smoked 3-4 times a week...enough to get kicked off a college team, but less than a ton of normal students would for sure.
He was dancing around in pregame more than any LSU player on the field not named Wing. Depressed, sure.
Do you honestly believe this dude smoked only a FEW times per week? I am guessing he was a regular with the blunt...
To be fair, it is a classic tune...

I really wish that in my career i could get fired from my job, fail mutiple drug tests, and cry about how i was "depressed" and thats why i underperformed and still have the oppotunity to make millions in the same line of work!....MERICA!!
Not sure, but don't know why the article would focus on his recovery and then low ball the number of times he smoked weekly. If you read the article it said he did so mainly to have the best chance at passing tests, which is dumb anyways bc you need a week at the minimum.
This probably was kind of depressing.
Gotcha. yeah that was a bunch of BS. He had the lifestyle user problems. He was involved in it in a lot more ways than just a casual get high a few times here or there. This article was pretty stupid - lets make this kid a victim!
He should never be drafted due to his choice in suits at the heisman
as someone who is around the chron often ... almost guarantee it was more than 3-4 times a week. Also, you can pee clean smoking the day before if you got the right stuff, low body fat, work out frequently, etc ... dude sucks, is playing teams right now into believing his bs. I'd still spend a 6th or 7th round pick on him depending on my teams' needs or just try to sign him to the practice squad and go from there.
surely they won't, right?
My thoughts exactly!
Try Jesus Christ Tyran, thats the only thing that can cure your problem.
He didnt seem too depressed as he was taunting our players when they were running on the field for pregame stretch.
He's a worthless thug who's feeling sorry for himself because he is a pothead.
He would get ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED in the NFL. Imagine him covering Julio or Andre Johnson or any other WR for that matter.
Exactly what I was thinking when I saw the article.
My gaydar just went off seeing all those pics of him shirtless on the beach.
The only thing. And, He is waiting!
lets see if I understand this correctly...one Heisman candidate was depressed and told his girlfriend before the game that he didn't want to play Bama...and got beat down in the NC game and another Heisman candidate made up a girlfriend and told her he didn't want to play Bama in the NC game.
Both fan bases used that as excuses for not only losing and the athletes themselves used it as an excuse for their poor personal performances during the game..... come to think of it the NC game before that the Heisman trophy runner up (Colt McCoy) got "hurt" DURING the game and some say quit himself.
He was a non-factor in the first game too. Was he depressed then too?
