Really could care less about 10rc.
A few things about Kirby...
He will eventually leave. That is a given, but he will leave only for the right program for him. It will be for a head job only with an established brand. He wants to stay in the southeast in close proximity to GA. He and his wife's roots/family are there. He also knows GA is his recruiting bread and butter. He isn't going to turn his back on that.
So, he isn't taking jobs like OM, KY, AR, etc. If a head job like UT, GA, Clemson, SC, etc. comes open and they want him...he is gone. He is willing to wait because he knows it's best for his long-term future. It also helps he and his wife like T-town a lot.
One thing to pay attention to is the success of Jimbo and Will. If they do well, AD's will be more willing to take a chance on Kirby. If they fail, Kirby will have a hard time getting the calls he wants.
When Kirby does leave, GA recruiting will take a big hit. Don't kid yourself. Recruiting against Kirby in GA will not be easy. No one knows GA or our program better.
There is a high probability a few of our coaches would go with him. Not naming names.
Kirby leaving would hurt our future success than any players leaving. Of course it can be overcome. We still have Saban.
The price of victory is high, but so are the rewards.

I can't think anyone wouldn't think Tennessee to be a good job. behind Alabama they have the best tradition and history of any SEC team. Their facilities are good, avid fan base. They have always recruited nation wide so the lack of talent in Tennessee is something they have always faced. I would say they are a top 5 job in the SEC which would mean one of the better jobs in the country.
Myself, I hope they never get a good coach. I don't want them ever to be a player again. I hate Orange, Orange will make you stupid!
So if one Saban assistant doesn't work, go for another. Is this their strategy? The only problem... they aren't Saban.
Apparently not a big enough alum..... Smart will not be their 1st, 2nd or 3rd option.
If they want Kirby, they certainly have the money to come and get him. He's phenomenal in all phases of coaching. His recruiting will be needed in a big way because the state of Tennessee (excluding the Memphis area) isn't overflowing with a lot of future NFL talent. Kirby's connections to the Georgia high school talent pool will come in handy in that respect. We should also expect him to take Jeremy Pruitt with him to be his DC. Coach Pruitt would be a very big asset to Kirby's recruiting, too. Meanwhile, Sal would return to the Capstone to take over as Saban's DC. If that takes place, UT will be the perfect school to give Kirby all he needs in head coaching experience before he comes back to the University when Saban chooses to retire (hopefully in more than 10-years). By then, he (Saban) will have won us many BCSNCs.

I've said b/f that CSC and Kirby are best friends and he will be right behind Kirby the Milli-second Kirby takes a HC job.
have a few BOL'ers nearly tear their key boards apart in anger when I posted this last time so brace yourself.
Do they really believe they're watching Kirby's defenses? smh
I just want to walk you home.
I live in Knoxville and you may be right because I hear his name mentioned on the radio and obviously the connection with Dave Hart and they love Sal here but honestly UTk can't afford another miss with this next hire whenever that may be. Not saying Kirby would be a miss but they need a somewhat big name with HC experience.,,,,not one with little to none. Kiffin had no college HC time...Dooley had very little at La. Tech. I just don't think they can miss again with a young up and coming type of guy. They are already facing 8 years of average to below average seasons and letting Dooley go will probably add 3 to 4 more years of that and that fanbase can't deal with that. Circus or not if I were UT I would be on the horn with Bobby Patrino every damn day. They need a quick fix and I just dont think a coach with no HC'ing time can provide that in the SEC. UTk is a bigtime job no matter how you spin it and with the right $'s they can lure in a lot better than Kirby Smart . I think Kirby will make a very good HC in due time but I'm not sure jumping to a school like UTk is the right move. I know $$$'s talk but being a DCoord for CNS (Control Freak, Micro Managing Machine) who overseas everything you do defensively is a lot different than calling your own shots for a program like UT. That being said it's JMO.
