"We don't talk about winning championships, we talk about being champions."
Teo is not a first round pick!
The only thing that makes me slightly disagree with that is because he was going up against 4 other potential 1st rounders on the line, 2 1-2 rounders at RB, and the best blocking TE in college football. If you take that into consideration, he was not only going up against elite opposition, but probably blockers and RB's that could rival some NFL blockers and RB's. It was good on good and we happened to win.
Remember though that while Bama's starters for the most part are bound for the NFL, a 1st-3rd round pick is supposed to make an immediate impact on an NFL team, thus facing seasoned veterans on opposing offenses much bigger and better than the Soph's, Jr's, Sr's, that Bama has. Maybe he'll do well at the combine or maybe we'll find out he had some undisclosed injury during the BCS, but if I'm a GM with a need on Defense I can't draft him rounds 1 or 2. Frankly I'm not sure he's ILB material in the NFL and perhaps more suited for OLB...jmho. I said this before and after the Jets drafted Tebow (who's moral character I respect) but his inefficiencies at QB made him a project and you don't give up a first round pick/money on a project. I need my 1st rounders to come in and be an immediate impact player.
+1 - great find. Loved when he said CJ was the most talented defender on the field. I think there were a few threads predicting that before the game.
Thanks! Yeah daniel is very good and fair in his assessments. If you are on twitter I believe his tag is move the sticks. And CJ was the best and so excited that he is stayongn;) RTR!
Only thing i had issue with is Eifert talking about matching up with Milliner. He didnt have a good game because more times than not we matched Milliner up with Eifert. Whether he was outside or inside Milliner covered him. So kind of hard to put Eifert on Belue when Milliner is following him.
Teo will also be a 1st round pick. Should he be? No, but he will be. I said it before the game and after the game he is WAY overrated and should not have been in any conversations for any awards.
I agreed totally with what he said about Teo. He shouldn't be in a 3-4 scheme because he can't get off blocks against the big boys. I'm going to chalk up the bad tackling to a bad night.
That being said, if I was a fan of an NFL team and my team picked him in the top 10, I'd be pretty disappointed.
Nice find, thanks for posting.
