They sounded so defeated when Square made the final sack... I don't want to listen to another CBS broadcast.
Gary was fairly even-keeled throughout most of the game but man, if I had been at my house I would have muted it just to get rid of Verne. He got on my last nerve early and often. "LSU has absolutely DOMINATED this game", we were 5 freakin minutes into the 1st quarter! Unfortunately for all of us, Eli said after the game that next week will likely be a CBS 2:30 kickoff with the dynamic du-oh.
Yep unreal how anti Bama they are. You could clearly tell throughout the game esp Verne.
Funny, I never notice this stuff. After a big play, Gary will be quiet for a time to let the viewers soak in the moment and just let the sound of the game take over. He isn't anti Bama. There's too many insecure people in our fan base.
Verne is actually a tad better than his eventual replacement, LSU homer Tim Brando -- except for the fact that he can't say player's names correctly or misspeaks in general half the time. Danielson is NOT biased from what I've heard during the telecasts. I would prefer to see ESPN or ABC do our games, however. Don't forget one thing about CBS: They all but unanimously picked LSU preseason #1 and the favorite to win the BCS National Championship. They had a vested interest in the outcome of the game. "The Drive" ruined their hopes for the season, too.
Go listen to it again. I can totally understand where youre coming from because it seems like a whiny observation. But I challenge you to listen to it again. They said what they HAD to say, not what they wanted to say. Nothing more.
i left where i was watching the game with about 3 minutes more because of them, lundqest and danielson, than the game. listening to Eli call T.J. TD was very satisfying after their anti-bama dribble all night. in the end as Eli said" the champion got off the canvas and won the fight". RTR! nice to be the KING!
Choose not a life of limitation
Eh... I don't think it was anti-Bama as much as they were in shock. So was the crowd. So was I. So was the entire nation. Even the entire ESPN crew had to take a moment to soak in what just happened. Lou Holtz couldn't believe it. Rece Davis was stunned as well. Heck, AJ McCarron was speechless.
I think Gary/Verne couldn't believe what just happened either. To sum up what Rece Davis said, "Everything bad that happened in the last half of the game was completely erased in 43 seconds, it happened so fast that nobody saw it coming and people need time to adjust to what happened."
I don't think some of you yet grasp the gravity of what happened.
I agree on your danielson comment. I just think he wants it close and exciting. as for verne, I do think he wants someone other than bama to win. I don't know if this is anti-bama necessarily or as me with the yankees when I was young, you just want to see the "big dog" taken down.

It would have been huge news in the CFB world if we had lost. I think Danielson's been pretty complimentary to Alabama the last couple years.
Verne is, well, just Verne.
LSU played a great game and they should be commended. That said, ROLL TIDE!
Watch the last drive again and listen to their call - to their credit they are right down the middle and clearly enjoyed the game as much as all of us. Verne can drive you crazy but neither he nor Gary " hate " Bama.
1000 times better than Tim brandeaux.
I can no longer deal with Verne. They need to put him out to pasture.
Gary Danielson does not hate Alabama. He said earlier during the week that he didn't think that LSU had a chance to beat Alabama. He said repeatedly that he thinks that Alabama is the best team in the country and he has been saying it for most of the season. So, to say that Gary Danielson hates or is biased against Alabama is a bit of a reach.
It's time for Verne to retire but they won't make him. He needs to let it go. Can't get the names right, misses plays, makes up penalties, he is just lost all around. At one point during the game last night, he starts talking about a flag on a play that didn't exist. It took him at least 15 seconds to realize that it was just a piece of paper. Verne may want Alabama to lose but half the time I don't think that he even realizes what is going on.
they need to keep Verne away from the punch bowl, he always F's up the players names for us
