Here it is guys.
Vonn Bell knew his choice was going to ruffle some feathers, but in making the biggest decision of his life the Ridgeland High School five-star football recruit did the most basic of things.

Sounds like he wants to be done with college asap and also doesnt want to compete for playing time.
LMAO, thanks for the downvote for bringing a newspaper writeup to the board about a recruit many of us wanted. RTR
Edit since posting this. My Bama brothers have taken care of the Donwvote I got from the poster that had a problem with the post. Just shows that the vast majority of posters here understand its an Alabama fan board and people are just trying to bring all the info we can here. RTR guys and a great day yesterday. Now, I can't wait until spring to get back down there for the spring game. I love Tuscaloosa.
I wish him well. I did very much want Bell to be at Bama but sounds like he made the right choice for him based on what he was looking for.
Crimsonbleeder "If Trent doesn't go pro this year I will eat my car tires"
I wish him well and respect his decision, but from what he said, Bama sounded like a better choice. He wants to compete for championships, he wants to be an all American, and he wants to go to the NFL early.
The championships speak for themselves and I don't think anyone would bet anything of significance that Bama won't win another this year. Saban also is putting more top draft juniors out than anyone.
Look at the Saban era on this list.
I'm sure he had his reasons for picking OSU, but the ones he said don't add up to me.
Am I misreading the article or does Bell think you can declare for the draft after two years?
I agree, but CUM is living off his NC at Florida and they did go undefeated last year. I think everyone would agree Alabama is "THE" place to be right now. The problem is it is not for everyone, you have to conform and have a certain mind set to come to Alabama right now. Some of these kids just may not get it. Now Bell from his presser was very impressive and made me really like him more. You just never know about these young men.
It appears we may be on a collision course with CUM and Ohio State. I hope so, I would love making him retire a second time. RTR
For all we know Bama may have been his choice if given that option. As Tim, Lucky and other staff have repeatedly said, Bama was not an option for Bell down the stretch. Between OSU and Tennessee, I think he made the right choice.
He does indeed seem to think he can go after two years or was mis-quoted. I also saw another article where he is quoted as saying he eliminated Bama due to depth. It is true, he could possibly start for OSU as a true sophomore but at Bama it would be 50/50.
Good luck and best wishes to him, hate he went elsewhere.
+1. I totally agree with you as well. I can't help thinking that the real reason wasn't mentioned. It seemed like Bama backed off a little at the end. Maybe not, but it felt that way...
Ha, whoa there champ. It's just a downvote. It was probably because you misspelled "article" in your subject line. Don't take it so personally. RTR Bama brother.
I didn't even notice, thanks for the info. It may be but our board has a history of down-voting something they perceive as negative to Alabama. Anyway it started a pretty nice discussion about CUM and recruits so I am proud for that.
Thanks for the dv's, I was just trying to make Cosmo feel better. Bunch of jerks.
Wasn't me man, I don't downvote people on the board unless they are rude to others. I didn't take offense to your post.

Hate to say it but I agree with you. I can't stand Tennessee or Meyer, but in this situation he probably did make the right choice. Not to mention now he won't have to face Alabama every season.
Ha, whoa there champ. It's just a downvote. It was probably because you sided with the guy who misspelled "article" in his subject line. Don't take it so personally. RTR Bama sister.

Old Soldiers never die...
Looks like CUM wants to recruit primarily from the South.
Gotcha covered! Hope I don't get a dv. :-)
