With all the talk about who is going where, it seems like Ark is making the biggest transition in style of play. Sadly for them they are going back to the style of team they had with Houston Nutt, so it is like paying a contractor to remodel your kitchen to the new trend, just to say I don't like it and pay someone else to change it back. Are they going to be patient enough to give him time to change? DJ Fluker type linemen do not grow on trees, and that is what they will be recruiting. Along with 240 pound running backs. Arky better play this one right, I think they made a good hire, but if they get impatient, and try to rush his system, they could set themselves back another 5-10 years trying to change out systems for the coach after Bielema.
Petrino threw the ball a lot. But his offense wasn't really a spread like other teams. They no doubt need bigger ol guys. Don't think it'll be that many years.

I think it will be interesting to see how this experiment works. The way I see it they will try to beat Bama and LSU at their game. The only problem is they have a recruiting disadvantage and are several years behind...
The rushing game was cut by about half from Houston to Petrino. Knile Davis is 225 and a decent fit for his system, but there are no bruisers on his team now, and they take 2-3 years in a weight program to develop, so that means 3-4 years from now they would have a running back that would fit his system.
I know he is known for having really heavy backs, but all it takes is one T. Gurley, or TJ yeldon and hes got his guy for 3 years. Its the offensive line that is gonna take a while. But Petrino wasnt really the same type of spread as say an Oregon. Beilima has guys he can work with over there. Good hire IMO
That is reaching a bit imo.
they went from 3725 yards rushing in 2007 to 1786 yards rushing in 2011
