First, as noted in other threads, the Ags seemed to enjoy Tuscaloosa and seemed to be treated well. Their fans were nice enough.
But did anyone notice the Yell Leaders? Those are some strange cats. The corps band was weird too. Maybe its just because i was sitting a section over and had to watch them all day. But the whole vibe was a little too "Brokeback Mountain" for me.
I wasnt sure if the Yell Leaders were gonna serve me a milkshake or fill my car up with gas. Looked straight out of the 50s. But the constant gyrations and dances were most bizarre.
Didn't get the impression many of their male fans/band members like the ladies. Thats as nice as i can be about it. The whole thing was very cultish, and thats what id heard from friends who went to Baylor and Texas. Like auburn in a lot of ways.
Most of us who've long been familiar with the unique qualities associated with aTm don't find any of it to be "strange, weird, cultish," or "like Auburn in a lot of ways." Interestingly enough, I've always been impressed with their traditions as much as their alumni, as they are a very classy, well educated group - none of whom have ever appeared to be stupid, judgmental or bigoted. Of course, that behavior may be strange and weird to some folks.

Never Gets Old
I have to agree..I never watch the bands at halftime...I did with A&M. Loved the marching.
I was not sitting close to their section so I can't speak to how they were during the game
I was on the other side of field from there fans. The band was simple but amazing. I loved the way they marched and played it was great to have the military feeling on Veterans Day, but I love tradition and it was a very tradition rich night.
ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE....like NO other
I saw two of the yell leaders grinding on eachother after the game at Galletts and I swear one looked at me and goes "I swear we are not gay" I could do nothing but shake my head and walk away
Those of you who don't like their band are probably anti military in general. Happy veterans day to the rest of you.
