him being the heir apparent at this point, what is the prognosis?
Any analysis would help.

Well I'm not considering him the heir apparent.
What do you expect to hear about a freshman who is a RS? He is practicing well and throwing spirals to guys who catch it??
I think he is the most likely starting QB in 2014.
Who you got?
Well we did hear a good bit about AJ during his redshirt year. But that was a mix of AJ's ability and Greg's mid-season slump.
B Sims as the primary back up until Bateman or Del Rio is ready to play. JMO
Correct me if Im wrong but at that time there was people looking for AJ to get a shot at playing as Greg was slumping as the fans always love who is the back up. that is not the case here and sims would have basically ran the read option if AJ did go down
Dont put a lot of stock in practice reports as history has proven that does not always turn out from viewing periods and maybe working on something. That said, on my team we had a few guys that were practice all stars and crapped the bed in games.
Bateman and Del Rio have a long time to go, and I can't see Saban having the Blake Sims offense as his primary. People are underestimating Morris.
This, guys that have never even broke a sweat in a real practice getting love as locks. I have actually heard good stuff on Morris and thought his HS video was pretty good. Big kid, moved well and threw well
Anyone who has seen AM play AND who understands what Saban is looking for in his system certainly won't underestimate him. He's got the size, he can throw the ball accurately to any spot on the field, he's mentally and physically tough, and he'll have had quite a bit of time in the system before he ever sees the field.
AM will be the "next in line"...
1960 Les Paul
Don't you know......he was only a 3 star. (G)
Ronald Reagan: Man is not free unless government is limited.
I agree completely and until shown differently,I don't think B Sims is the next Alabama QB.
The Frosh are not even in.
That leaves Morris right now as the heir apparent.
but forget about that.Lets call him next behind Sims.
Still have heard nothing about his progress.
Now that we have analyzed that, has anyone heard anything about Morris' progress?
You say people are understimating Morris. I say you are underestimating Blake Sims, Bateman and Del Rio. Now we are back where we started.
Yea--He is on track and his progress has progressed as the staff had hoped he would progress in a progressive manner.......
I mentioned why AJ was being talked about in my original reply.
It just seemed to me that you were kinda slamming the OP for asking about a QB that was redshirting. I was just pointing out that we have recent history that shows he has a legitimate reason to ask the question.
I wouldn't call Morris the "heir apparent" but let's hope he's in the mix. Would be nice to have another quality option behind AJ for next season.
Either way, roll tide!
I've watched Sims on the field and the skill set he has does not say Alabama starting QB to me. Morris has the skill set Saban uses, and he's way ahead of the other two, who are both very raw prospects who don't have a year of college experience under their belts. I'll take my chances.
Nobody has a clue of who will be our next starter. Coach Nuss is a great qb coach and it will be nice to have a little depth at qb.
Im sorry, hope I didnt hurt FastEddie's feelings. I Dont come on to slam anyone, might have some smart ass responses sometimes but we are all entitled to our comments and or questions. It was a valid question yes, but I think many times we as fans look for more info then is really there, im going off personal experience. I didnt play football at bama but we were a top flight team during my years so had good recruits with high expectations each year role in. Saw many get humbled there first year or so, myself included. Takes a little time to slow the game down and come into each's own.

I think that's why these ranking systems sometimes seem so subjective. It's hard to really know how a "horse is going to pull until you hook a load to it." Some of these guys are really getting tested for the first time in the careers. "Humbled," as you put it. (g)
All 3 freshmen are already on campus so the only advantage Morris will have is one fall. That may be significant in '13 but not for '14. With 3 new QB's this season it won't be a surprise if one of them plays next season. Spring camp will be fascinating at many spots, backup QB will be very interesting
So Philip Ely is not heir apparent???
