Alabama now has 23 commitments.
-SEC schools can only sign 25 recruits per year.
-That leaves 2 spots.
-It's not public yet but it appears that A'Shawn Robinson is committed as well.
-That leaves 1 spot.
-Back counting Brandon Hill to the 2012 class moves it up to 2 spots.
-Bradley Bozeman grey-shirting moves it up to 3 remaining spots.
-Who gets the final 3 spots?
-I feel like Liner and Kamara have already informed the coaching staffs their intentions to sign with Alabama.
-Bell and Poggi are probably not really options anymore.
-It seems like Reed is probably on hold to see what Vanderdoes decides.
And there's the quandry.
What if Vanderdoes and Connor both want to sign with Alabama? Who gets the final slot? Another player, possibly Walker Jones, is asked to greyshirt?
I am not going to answer only Saban knows since we pay to discuss these type situations.
I believe you are right and that Poggi will stick with Michigan and Bell will head to UT
There has been some talk of a sign and place kid signing with JUCO instead or another grey shirt.
Here is my question. Say a high school recruit enrolls early and simply does not sign, would this count against the SEC limit?
JMO, but it's Liner, Kamara and EV. If EV signs elsewhere then someone else can get his spot. Unless of course, there is another greyshirt option or something. IDK really.
"Hey, hey, hey. A life. A life, Jimmy, you know what that is? It's the shit that happens while you're waiting for moments that never come."
Liner, Kamara and then one of the defensive lineman. I could see it being Adams, Reed, or EV.
Interesting about the sing and place. Hadn't thought of that.
As far as a HS kid enrolling early, If he's on scholarship, he would count toward the 85 limit.
Let Saban figure it out geez
If Vanderdoes and Conner both want to sign, My guess is Walker pays his own way the first semester. You won't here about it since he won't delay registration, but his family is wealthy enough, and big enough Bama fans, that they would do it instead of your standard grey shirt.
I know he'd count against the 85 but the question is would it count against our signees on Wed?
That sounds like a great scenario. Just curious ... what does Walker's parents do? I thought they were missionaries?
Pretty sure only midterm jucos sign LOI. EE can't sign they just enroll or sign a financial aid document. They still count though.
The EEs do not sign LOIs so they don't count against the SECs 25 LOI limit. The rule has no teeth. Our only numbers issues are the 25/85 numbers mandated by the NCAA
How has this not been brought up by the Staff? I looked into it and found an article saying that the 25 only counts for the LOI's signed between February and May 31. The article was from 2 years ago so maybe it has changed? Can anyone confirm or deny this?
College football coaches have embraced early enrollment for signees because it allows new players to take part in spring drills and get a head start with conditioning and academics. But there's another reason early enrollment is all the rage -- it's a way around NCAA limitations.

Did i miss something, because I thought Robinson was pretty much considered a lock and no one is even listing him as one of the last spots.
I think we finish with:
Vanderdoes, Adams or Reed
. . . and if Saban can find someway to fit him into the class . . .

I thought I read that Jones parents said they would gladly pay for the first semester /year to make room ...
Thanks for the update. Are there any commits that will not have the grades?
Reed is the key in all this or your leading indicator Wednesday.
If he signs with Bama, staff knows Vanderdoes is off the table, if he signs with UF, staff knows or feels real good about Vanderdoes (with Poggi being fallback if Vanderdoes goes other way...if Poggi goes UM and Reed UF then i have to believe it a definitive on EV. If Reed doesn't sign and is waiting I think it tells you it is a total toss up with EV, especially if Poggi is waiting as well.
Want to make it more complex?? How does Adams factor in?? Hard for me to believe he does unless he's truly given the staff an absolute yes already. My two cents.
You know Reed and Poggi are going to get pressured for papers by UF and UM...neither would want to be shut out and I believe those schools would play that card...so watch Poggi and Reed if we miss, we get the big fish IMO.
