Not sure best way to word it but what position do you think Saban has done th best job of recruiting since getting to Bama?
My first thought would be Running Back due to having a Heisman winner and Heisman finalist. Trent is one of the best football players I have ever seen. We also have on the roster potentially a few more greats at this position.
Or it could be LB. Only reason Ro isn't on my All Time greats list at Bama is we are Bama and have so many great LBs that have played here. Hightower and Upshaw were remarkable as well. Moseley might be the best of the bunch.
We've also had some great DBs that Saban recruited like Barron, DreK, and Menzie. Plus HaHa and Landon Collins are as highly touted as they come.
I don't know which one I would pick.
don't overlook WR's...man, this year especially has been the best WR corps I've ever seen hauled by us and it's probably the best in the country. Add that and the Julio factor in there, and you've got quite a WR resume...
1960 Les Paul
Linebacker by a football's length over Running Back and Tight Ends. If there weren't a few busts at DB, I'd put them there in the hunt. Linebacker recruiting has been very good and very deep year after year and really is the most important area of Saban's D. Without Rolo, Donta, DePriest, Mosley, Johnson, developing Reamer and Anders, and getting the guys this year, the legacy, so to speak, would not be what it could be now.

LB and RB
uhhhhhh.......... all of them
RB...McClain technically was a Shula recruit but LB and RB are strong.
There is a good chance that every starter on the 2012 OL will end up in the NFL. I won't go so far as to say that OL is Saban's "best recruiting job", but I will use it as an example of my premise that CNS recruits better than anyone else in the profession at every position on the field.
RB and LB
I'm going RB because we can't credit Saban with Rolo.
If you lump S and CB, then you have to say DB. Dre, Kareem, Barron, DM, HaHa, Lester, Collins, Geno, etc. It'll be interesting to see how many 1st round draft picks come from this group. Even AL, and BJS were big time recruits. They just didn't pan out.
Linebacker / running back
" If it feels good, you ain't doing it right!"
I would have thought DB when he came to Bama, and while we have been exceptional there, our LB corps is one of the most stunning institutions I have ever seen in college football. We are a freaking factory for LB now.
"Touch that thang four" - Courtney Upshaw
...except kicker and punter
Lmao!! Great one liner! I think griffin could kick a mans lung through his chest and split the uprights from 40 yrds out. What say u?
It has to be LB, but OL is close. We've had one of the most dominate lines the last few years and 2/3rds of the starters on the NC teams were Saban commits, Davis, Johnson, and Valchos(committed to Shula but part of Saban's 1st class)
DL we've recruited a lot of solid guys, but few elite
We've missed a lot of DB's in recent years and it has lead to depth issues at times
WR outside of Julio and Maze production has been low for Saban recruits at this position
K/P 1st scholly kicker left, scholly punter beat out by a walk on, and other scholly kicker shares time with a walkon.
