2 yrs. from now they win an SEC Championship or 3 yr's from now they are on probation for paying players?
20 years from now Ole Miss will have as many SEC championships as they have now. If Freeze has another solid year and maintains some recruiting momentum a program like Texas or USC might snatch him up.
TIFWIW.... I have several MSU friends who are, well, let's say in the know and HIGHLY involved in the program who have told me nothing specific mind you, but that there is alot of evidence that has been collected on Ole Miss this recruiting season. I'm not saying anything will come of it and I have no specifics, but MSU and others have collected evidence of some sort and are still digging. Only time will tell what will happen. I'm no insider, but I am an investigator for a living, however I'm not involved in this situation. My advice is wait and see how it plays out, it could take a while. In the meantime CNS and company will be focused on preparing the team. These are great times for Bama. Beating ole miss will be sweeter now!! ROLL TIDE!!!

If they win 10 games, a bigger program will snatch him... Other than that freese will stay at ole miss. He's a Mississippi man, and I hope he stays and I enjoy ole miss having success. But, I could see him not having the ultimate success as in being able to compete with LSU, Bama, ad Auburn (normally they are in the mix if u go back the last 10 years) , and now A&M... Could see him gone if he doesn't break more than 8 wins in the next 3 or 4 years, which I think is more plausible.
IMO Freeze is doing whatever he can to grab national spotlight to himself and Ole Miss. Which is respectable, but at what cost?
Freeze won't feel the effects of a probationary period if he hits the high road to a big program (USCw, Tex...) before they come down.
If Rebel players and fans think Hugh Freeze will be at Ole Miss in 10 years, they need to wake up and realize the money he'll get elsewhere with success in little ole Oxford.

Seriously if they have not done anything to an Auburn after all these years. I just don't see them caring enough to nail Ole Miss. If the barn ever gets nailed. I might change my stance on the subject.
I may eat crow... but, I know people in his family and very close to his family... Freeze isn't leaving for anywhere... its his dream job, and if Ole Miss has success, they will pony up more $... He will be there for a long time, unless he fails to win 7 or so games per year... a Coach at Ole Miss that wins 7-8 games a year, then pop a 9 or 10 win season every 5 years or so will never be in danger of losing his job.
I have several associates on Alabama message boards that would swear on their life that Auburn is cheating. Nothing is going to come of these mostly baseless allegations. Nothing ever does.
ole miss will stay irrelevant.
Nothing will happen the ncaa got caught in a barbwire fence in auburn and got castrated so they have no ----- s any more. so its wide open to cheat looks like.
Good point about the wins, only problem is who is he consistently going to knock off in the SEC over that 5-10 year period?
Alabama, LSU, Florida, S. Carolina, UGA, Arkansas, Miss St., Auburn? If consistency is the key for him to keep his job, he'll have to continually beat a few of these programs year in and out.
I see what you are saying, but it's important not to forget Ole Miss' track record. Although, I'll admit yesterday was a huge step in the right direction for that program.
Vandy is their Constant... They will start controlling MSU... so 4 non-conf. wins... plus these two more times than not gets you to 6... We all know that AUB is going to be down for a few years, as is AR... that puts em at 8 wins, they lose one or two of those they are at 6 plus a bowl win gets them to 7 or 9 if they beat em all...Very concievable...
I have to admit, I like Ole Miss having some success... I live in MS, and they are probably my 2nd fav team... I think they are a team so far under Freeze that doesn't quit... which is not something that you can say about alot of teams... Therefore, I respect that... I hope they beat FAU's *ss every year...
I do understand Ole Miss's track record... Cutcliff was brought there to get Eli... he didnt recruit worth a sh*t Coach O could recruit, but couldn't Coach Sh*t... and Nutt didn't realize how easy recruiting was at AR, and when he won it was with O's recruits...I think Freeze is better than what they have had previously...
There are several teams Ole Miss could plunder enough wins from in the coming years. AU, MSU, Arky, UT, Vandy. Hell win 3-4 in the SEC like this year. & sweep your crappy OOC schedule. & he's got 6-7 wins & a crappy bowl game every season. That shouldn't be too hard imo.
I am most interested to see if he can manage the these type of recruits with his experience. Isnt he just three years removed from high school? I personally feel this may be a near impossible task. So I would like to add the following option.
C.) Do the Jim Chizik- (Let recruits and asst's take control, do as they please, pump up this great party school, have another good year on the field (boosted by the fact that several SEC schools are down), have one more extra-ordinary recruiting haul while selling family, fun & BAMA like teams taking control of the college football world (which has alteady started) And then.......
They have first hand knowledge that Shapiro funneled hundreds of thousands into recruits and Miami is gonna walk. You think they'd come down on ole miss?
You'll never achieve great things until you believe that's what's supposed to happen
Like John Boy and Billy say,"Take C"
Never Gets Old
Yep I agree if he does well, I dont think he has to win 10, but just get them going in the right direction, he will be gone after this year or next. Then those top recruits will be stuck.
Don’t give up at halftime. Concentrate on winning the second half.—Alabama Coach Bear Bryant
No. Freeze is a Mississippi boy and this is the one that he wanted.
