I know there have been similiar threads posted about this subject but since we are playing Notre Dame in the BCSNCG and they are, by far, the most nostalgic opponent we have faced in these last three CG appearances, it got me to thinking about my earliest memories of witnessing Alabama football. For me it was the 1981 Iron Bowl and the Bears' 315th victory. I can remember my uncle picking up my father and hoisting him on his shoulders in the wake of Linnie Patricks' heroic runs during the fourth quarter...what are your earliest memories?

90 or 91 blockbuster bowl over colorado
72 punt Bama punt game....I was 10 that season.
1990 UT 9-6 game. Phillip Doyle.
That was a classic game!
'73 Sugar Bowl vs ND. Was playing Monopoly at my cousin's house. I was 7. My dad was pissed for 6 months.
Dad started taking me to games when I was pretty young... as early at 1974 when I was 4. I don't really remember a lot about those games other than the whole Legion Field experience which as a kid was pretty good back then. I still have all my old programs from those days and my memories of how I loved those saturdays at the stadium with dad.
Im thinking late 60's.....i was listening as a 10 or 11 year old to the Vandy game.....getting late in the game....lol...heard a loud wood breaking noise, my dad had busted one of the slide thingies on the headboard of his bed. We couldnt move the ball when we needed to.....Vandy beat us 14 -10. I laffed several years after that every time i went in my parents bedroom and see that broken part of the bed.
Cannot remember the opponnent but In had to be in mid 1950's. How many remember Play by play man Maury Ferrell and color man John Forney? My first game to see in person was in 1958. Coach Bryant's first year. Was Homecoming and we upset Georgia 12-0. Know Tarkenton was young QB on team. Georgia had a bruising FB named Theron Sapp. Sapp and Jim Blevins got in fight during game and i can still Coach Bryant going on field and slinging players everywhere.
Been a long and great ride and have seen the good and the bad of Alabama Football. Loving what is going on right now RTR.
1983 iron bowl I was 12. My dad had became friends with a guy that played at AU in the 60's. for some reason this guy and his family came to our house to watch the game. When the clock ran out I was so pissed about losing I ran up to the tv and kicked the piss out of the on off button cutting the tv off. Even though my dad drug me up stairs and beat me half to death I still say it was worth it. God I hate auburn.
Around 1962, not many games were on TV then. Myself, my dad. and my grand dad would gather around the radio. My grand dad drinking his homemade beer and cursing like a sailor. Me and my dad listening and me thinking I was a big shot being with the grownups.
Alabama v. Auburn 1971! 31-7
December 31st, 1973. Sugar Bowl against ND. I remember watching it with my dad. I was 8 years old at the time. I also vividly remembering my mom trying to calm him down after the game by saying "It's just a game, Honey". He tried to leave to go let off some steam but could not get our POS Plymouth Valiant started. Loooooong night....
1961,Leroy Jordan,Pat Trammell,Billy Neighbors,yep, I'm an old gezzer.
IF IT FEELS GOOD,YOU AIN'T DOING IT RIGHT!
My grandfather took my sister and me to our first game on Nov.11 1961 in Denny Stadium.
Bama 66 Richman 0. When I got old enough, I talked my parents into allowing me to sell Cokes as a way to watch the Tide play. Raised our kids on TIde Pride and his season was blessed to take my 2 grandsons ages 3 & 5 to see the Tide. Building memories...
