Outside of special teams? Robert Foster? Reuben Foster? Leon Brown? What y'all think?
Henry, Howard, brown, foster, jones
In order of likelihood:
1. OJ Howard
2. Derrick Henry, Tyren Jones, Alvin Kamara, Altee Tenpenny(Best 2-3 of the 4)
3. Rueben Foster
4. Leon Brown(Could be a starter or play very little...it's seemingly all or nothing as far as PT along the o line)
5. Robert Foster
6. Eddie Jackson(could start in nickel depending on Fulton's progress)
7. Jonathan Allen
8. Ardarius Stewart
2. Kamara has some role .
3. Robert Foster in certain packages
4. Henry or Tenpenny in the 3 back rotation
5. Leon Brown
6. Reuben Foster by mid season
Henry no doubt
Leon Brown will start
OJ Howard will play in different packages
Derrick Henry will be the #2/#3 RB
Robert Foster will see some time at WR
Jonathan Allen will come in on some packages on Defense
Reuben Foster will have a hard time getting on the field, Im curious about his coverage skills because that could be the main factor to get him on the field
I think CJ will play every down instead of just nickel like he has done most of his career. Depriest will keep his role. Rueben could possibly take the snaps that nico had. I think he sees the field more by mid year. Ruebon will be hard to keep off the field if he learns the defensive concepts.
I think Robinson and Paige will have a good shot to see the field too. Brown will prob start on OL
Every DLineman will play against A&M.
An FYI the signee capsules Charles posted gives a run down of everyone and states most times whether the guy will likely redshirt or has a chance to get on the field next year.
I believe Jackson was one they said would most likely redshirt. (Saw some mention him).
One that I think will play that isn't said a lot in these threads is Jonathan Allen. I think he will contribute similar to how Devall did last season. Other than him I like OJ, Henry, Brown, both Fosters, and at least one surprise.
Dee Liner has that "quick twitch" that Saban has been talking about. Very fast first step to get into the backfield then arrives to the ball with bad intentions. He will see the field.
OJ, D. Henry

Prior to this year Jackson hasn't played football the past two season, including voluntarily sitting out his jr season to focus on grades. Will redshirt IMO I know you said no ST players but Mazza will start
On Jackson we have to remember he is a raw athlete. Does not have a ton of experience in the secondary. Will probably redshirt and be in line for nickel next year depending on his development.
I know this would be rare for Saban, but if we feel that we have someone on the roster ready to step in at RT do not be surprised to see Leon Brown take a redshirt. That way he has a full two years at LT after Cyrus leaves early.
Doubt it happens but just a thought. He is a road grader and would fit in well right away at RT.
After reading some of the posts I see things much differently than most. I don't think Allen is going to come in and get PT over 2 guys that started last year and a frosh that has a full year on him that played this year. I also don't think Robert Foster is going to come in and see significant PT over guys that have 3-4 years of PT. I also don't think Rueben Foster is going to come in and see signficant PT over Depriest or Mosley.
Guys I think will get PT are Brown at RT (although he is a LT IMO) and Henry (or one of the RBs). I just don't see freshman gettting PT over guys that have been on the team. It really hasn't happened since Saban has been here.
Just a question. Who is Allen going to beat out for Devalls type of reps next year? Also, in what roles are the Fosters going to keep the previous years starters off the field?
I think OJ Howard finds his way into the starting TE position by at latest midseason. I think he will be as productive as a freshman as TJY and Coop were this past year. JMO.
"Hey, hey, hey. A life. A life, Jimmy, you know what that is? It's the shit that happens while you're waiting for moments that never come."
I agree with your post mostly. But remember, Ro,Hightower,CJ, depriest all got meaningful playing time at inside LB As a frosh. We have two starters there that will play a ton, but one more will get time for sure.
I am with you. People forget about the starters and reserves every year post NSD.
That said these guys will play only on situations most likely. Such as if Allen can be an edge rusher on 3rd down. RF could play some depending on his pass coverage skills. Robert has a chance to move up the depth chart because we have sets that call for 4 or 5 WRs and many WRs that are good at certain things but not all round guys. We will find out he is but no one knows.
I think the only ones I think will play outside of ST would be 2 or 3 RBs and OJ. Also I do think you will see a DE get out there but who knows that will be.
And its also time we throw out all red shirt freshmen and totally forget about them. Those guys we drooled over last year apparently have forgotten how to play during the off season
