*yes, I'm looking ahead. Please ignore thread if you don't like it.
UGA has a loss, but USCe has a monster schedule and so does UF. Curious as to who everybody thinks would be our best and worst matchups....I still think we'd want UF the most as they are too one dimensional to challenege our D (they can't throw it at at all) and depiste their egg last night UGA has the athletes to challenege us if they put it all together....not sure about USCe who can look ao good one day, so bad the next....thoughts???

After witnessing the loss to USCe in Columbia, my second such experience.....I want USCe
I'm tired of beating Florida and Georgia wouldn't be much of a challenge
Not USCe. Spurrier has done well against Saban and they look good. Expect them to lose to LSU this week.
I like our chances against anybody, but Florida would be the easier path. USCe would cause real problems for our tackles, and it's all about winning, I would rather play the whomever is the easiest path to the national title. Nobody remembers who you played to get there, they only remember that you are the champions.
Maybe I'm in the minority here but all the LSU love confuses me. Their defense is still unquestionably very good but UF out-physicaled them at the POA yesterday and USCe will do the same. I think it may be a beat down. They may get a goose egg in that one. Wheels are coming off imo
Well, we owe USCe in a BIG way---they need to be taken down a notch or two...
BUT, UF vs. Florida is the "RIGHT" SECCG---that is what started it all, and is what the whole thing is really about....

As long as we win every week, I don't care who we play
I would like to witness a SEC championship game where Alabama plays someone not named Florida.
They're choke artists.
We've struggled to protect against speedy/edge rushers. Both Florida and USCe do it very well.
Hell, lets play all 3 on a Saturday.
11:00 am BAMA vs GATORS
2:30 pm BAMA vs BULLDOGS
7:00 pm BAMA vs ROOSTERS
ROLL TIDE !!!!
The thing about people saying "we owe" USC and such...most of the players weren't involved in that game so there's no "payback" for them. I too was in Columbia and it sucked, but its not like it would be the same Bama team getting revenge over the same USCe team. I mean, you can get a little satisfaction thinking of all the drunks who taunted us crying their beer, but that's it as far as "payback"
If you ask me, the only proper way to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the SECCG is Alabama vs. Florida. That's the game that proved it could work and changed the landscape of college football. I don't care about getting "revenge" on South Carolina. Most of the starters are gone for both teams and frankly I've moved on. No SECCG is more historically significant or nationally relevant than Alabama vs. Florida.
I'd prefer to play Tennessee. It would be great to beat them twice in one year.
Sounds good to me.
If memory serves me correctly Fluker, and warmack were first year starters on the 2010 team, and barret jones started at right guard, fluker was also hurt in that game early on and we had to shuffle the line mcelroy had all day to find the open man and held on to the ball at critical times and took a good many sacks. Our running game was neutralized early on and we panicked while playing catch up and broke our offensive tendacies. This line this year can smash anyone in the country at the point of attack particulary when they are motivated. Point is there are a quite a few players that were on that team that are starting now that did not play then that remember that game and they will smash carolina this go around bc of it. There are very few teams that have beat alabama 4 quarters the way the gamecocks did that day, and being so few in a time period of 4 or 5 years there is no way our guys dont remember it. just my two cents
Your analogy is incorrect on two levels.
First and foremost, we have almost 60 Juniors and Seniors on the roster that were a part of the team when that game was played. Add in the Sophomores that redshirted, and that number rises to over 70. That is well over half of the team. And even if they did not all participate in the game, which we know they didn't, they were a part of that team. They suffered through every practice, they celebrated every win and they felt every loss. Believe me when I say, this team remembers 2010. Even the Sophs and Freshman that weren't here know about it from the rest of the team and the staff. Yes, this team does owe SC a little payback. Even if the loss were in 2008, this team would owe SC some payback for their Tide brethren before them.
Secondly, payback is as much for the fans as it is the players, and a fan wouldn't forget it if it were 10 years ago. Bragging rights for the fans might not be as important to the team, but we sure care about it.
I will say this, no matter who they play, the team will want to win it, but given the most recent history, I could just about guarantee you the coaches will use the 2010 game as motivation. SC gave us our first loss and knocked us out of the top ranking. Had we not lost to them, how would we have fared the rest of the way? We will never know...
In order of least path of resistance:
Georgia: They are the biggest pretenders in the SEC (as always)
Florida: They are coming along really well in Will's second season, but they aren't there yet
SC: Their defense is pretty good, and their offense is serviceable
As far as personal preference, I could come up with an argument for all three, but I will go with SC for the 2010 debacle, followed by jawja, because dawgs need to be reminded who their master is. I have no hate for SC but cannot stand jawja mostly because of their self righteous fans, so either would be pretty sweet. As far as Florida, that is just a classic SECCG battle, and I would be okay with them as well.
Just bring it !
I still have nightmares about "Sandstorm". With that being said, I don't care at all who we play..as long as we get there.
Agree 100%. We need to win 7 more games before we start thinking about who we play in the SEC Championship game.
i dont buy the payback factor and im fairly certain we dont have 60 juniors and seniors. (at least schollie players, and most of the walk ons probably werent on the team then anyway) Scott Stapp isnt USCes qb anymore, and unless shaw plays like he did that game. (his best game ever) then we would win. I wanna play UF just because it feels right, but UGA a close second to hammer them again. (who knows maybe they go blackout again)
This - and I want to beat them worse than *U did with the Cammer... 52-7 or something stupid like that.
that loss still tans my hide - and I didn't freaking play the ball game.
