player? Can be any sport, but mainly football.I was always a hugh Tony Nathan fan, pulled for the Dolphins too,for all the years he was there.
IF IT FEELS GOOD,YOU AIN'T DOING IT RIGHT!
My two favorites were Sherman Williams and Shaun Alexander. I guess it may have to do something with me growing up then but those are my two favorites.
Sackmaster 55, DT
Bear said, Pat can't throw and he can't run. All he can do is win. Pat was the QB of the first national championship that I can remember, 1961.
Shaun Alexander and T-Rich
I doubt he makes anyone else's list but mine:
Young guy here but big Su. Alexander #37 was me hero as a lad and wore #60 all through school in honor of big Chris Samuels!
University of Alabama: The high mark of college football since 1892
The Wizard of Oz!
If we win in Miami AJ McCarron
Old School: Major Ogilvie
Recent: Mark Ingram
Derrick Thomas without a doubt. When I saw him run step for step with wide receivers (even though he did get 2 interference calls) I knew we had something special, and he was just as special OFF the field.
A Man amongst boys. R.I.P DT!

Major Ogilvie was the man when I was a kid. Last 20 years, too many to choose from but I'll go with Julio.
Offense: Major Ogilvie
Defense: EJ Junior
Player I most admire: Siran Stacy
Leroy Jordan, Johnny Musso, Derrick Thomas, Bobby Humphrey and Trent...
Juuuulio! Loved his pure athletic ability to go with and unbridled work ethic.
Barrett Jones and Jeremiah Castille are incredible guys and players. I don't know if we'll ever see anyone like Barrett again. One of a kind.
Academic heisman, (only)4 time academic all-american, all-American at 3 different positions, Outland trophy and Rimington awards in different years, permanent team captain, possibly starter on 3 national championship teams, 4.0 GPA through undergrad and grad school, and that's not even mentioning all his community service/international missions work.
Ozzie Newsome, Derrick Thomas, and "biscuit" Cornelius Bennett.
Yeah,EJ was the man.
#37 Alexander had always been my favorite. However ol Coop#9 is making a case if he keeps it up. Prothro is probably number 2 for me.
Musso, Warren Lyles, Gary Rutledge, Jeff Rutledge
interesting topic-musso as a kid-split my head open jumping over the couch (hit coffee table) as a five or six year old trying to emulate his sports illiustrated cover and as an adult with so much more access to who they are as people there are many-alexander/ingram/trent/aj,but can't imagine a better representative for alabama football than barrett jones

"We don't talk about winning championships, we talk about being champions."
Kotis Coyote Nunnelly. Honk if you remember him!
