Siap, but was watching SC this morning and he was ripping Tebow apart. He seemed to be making it personal almost. I agree he is not a great QB, but he called Tebow as a person "phony" Jaws tried to defend him, but even he seemed shocked at what was being said.
Apparently he has been outspoken about Tebow for a while. Just found this from 2011
ESPN analyst and former running back Merril Hoge went to town with criticism of Tim Tebow this week. On Twitter, with tweet after tweet, Hoge harped on Tebows throwing motion and inaccuracy.
"Theres No Substitute for Guts"
Hodge did this once already before Denver's camp before last season. He said Tebow was not even practice squad material as a quarterback. It made headlines. He blasted him and never let up.
I Ain't got no Worries - Lebron James
While Tebow is not an NFL QB, to call him phony is wrong. Obviously, I do not know Tim, but people that do say that he is very genuine and a good person. Hodge has plenty of ammo against Tim as a QB, why go personal?
Never Gets Old
Hoge just knows that Tebow would be a better HB than he was. Pure pepper jelly.
Hodge was a FB. Also, i get the impression he's just tired of talking about Tebow. Can't blame him.
Give me a hundred Tebows over one Newton all day everyday.
The Panthers QB is about as "phony" as they come.
I really don't know how to put Tebow into words, but until this week I'm not sure I remember him making a poor decision as a teammate or as a person. His faith is polarizing and a certain faction of people want to see him fail. With the exception of playing Alabama or my favorite NFL team I will be pulling for Tebow. Personally I believe he's a good enough athlete to play some type of hybrid position HB/TE/Wildcat QB and be the emergency QB. Thought the Jets would do this, but I'm not sure what happened.
Question for BOL.
Is Tebow good enough to be a NFL HB/TE/wildcat QB? If he's not it might be the answer to the Jets situation.

If you dreamed you were a sleep and you woke up, would you be awake?
Hoge and McShay have had it in for Tebow from day 1. Not sure why. I get it that he has certainly underachieved but these two make it personal, especially Hoge.
