"Nobody makes me bleed my own blood, nobody!"
Probably because it's their job to evaluate. To play QB at the highest level, you can't suck as a QB. He sucks as a QB. He hasn't underachieved. To underachieve you have to have more skill than you show. I like him as a person an what be stands for, but there are plenty of us believers who aren't qualified to be starting QBs in the NFL haha. I find the argument of him being a good person incredibly bazaar when people use it to justify him as a QB.
Hey look, talking bad about Tim Tebow is open season as far as I'm concerned after what he pulled this weekend saying he is Choosing not to be a part of the plan for the game. I'm sorry, but when do players decide when and where they see the field? Maybe there's a lot to this guy that nobody knows or wants to accept. Maybe it's time for people to open their eyes.
“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present.”
There are sharks out in the water. Folks love to tear down someone who they envy. Tebow isn't a great NFL QB, but he gets love because he seems to be a great person all around. People want to call him naive and all that because of how genuine he seems to be in his faith and personality. But they really don't have much to criticize him on besides the fact that he doesn't fit in at any one position in the NFL.
Now that he has shown his frustration some (which might be one of the first times that he hasn't been positive), they have something else to attack him for. And they call him a baby and try to say he's a spoiled brat, but they are the ones with the problem.
The Jets are dysfunctional. Their management makes no sense. They seem to lack any decision making power in the front offices. They somehow believe that getting a star in the QB position will help them out. Basically, it seems to me like they just want to cobble together some athletes and put them on the field. But they don't seem to have a plan to develop a team. (The Process) They took this year away from Tebow, and it does affect his ability to perform in the NFL. He might have one more chance, but the Jets have basically wasted one of them. (They are doing that to GMac, too.)
For the folks who say that they are basically paying him money to do nothing so he should be happy. Who wants to be put in a position to fail or be ignored? The kid thrives on being part of a team. He is a good team leader even if he isn't a prototype NFL QB. I think his joy comes from being given a chance to play.
Tebow isn't whining. Its a business decision. He is basically saying "Trade me if you don't want to use me as a QB. I'm not your wildcat QB." (Which is another way of saying you are a running back.)
I have no problem with what Tebow did. He has basically said if I'm not your #2 guy like you said I was going to be then Id rather go somewhere else. Thats business.
"The (All In) Family"
You do that mess in the offseason. Point blank and period. No player should act like that. Can't have ur cake and eat it too...THAT IS BUSINESS! Lol
Act like what? How do you know he acted good, bad or otherwise? Its not Tebows fault the story was leaked to the media. He's being painted as a baby but how many prima donna athletes in the nfl go into a meeting with a coach every week and give their opinions or displeasure about their situation without everyone and their brother being told about it through the media? If he went into Rex Ryans office and professionally said, "Coach I respect your decision to not start me but that being the case I would rather not run wildcat plays this week." then thats not being a baby, thats a guy looking out for his own career. Why jepordize your future (albeit bleak) for 2-5 snaps when 1) The team you play on is horrible with no playoff hopes 2) They brought you in with promises being made if Sanchez was ever benched 3) You have already been told you will not be brought back next season 4) You don't want a 300lb lineman diving at your knees when you are hoping to land with another team next season???
The NFL is a business and at the end of the day you have to look out for your best interest if you know the team you play for does not give a rats rear end about you or your future. Kudos to Tebow for doing what 98% of all pro athletes do...look out for #1.
Tebow said he met With Rex on Friday and told him he would do whatever he could to help team
This is the problem right here. Its never been about football at all. Since Tebow is a christian and very vocal about it he has become a target. He has the world by the tail and people look in the mirror and find themselves lacking and feel the need to tear him down.
Hell every thread about him on BOL is proof of this and this is just fans. Look at all the people on this thread alone that call him a fraud. I'm no psychologists but IMO that tells you all you need to know right there.
That is the the real problem. It's not about football. Because if it was about football Tebow would not be in the NFL.
Again, I like Tebow. I respect and share his beliefs. However, the guy is not a good qb. You don't have to be jealous, envious, lacking in self esteem, uncomfortable with your spirituality, or anything like that to be able to watch him play and point out the obvious.
