Decent threat then that a team like Miami with a successful, if brief, history on their side is in legit trouble of having access to the ultimate prize?
60 to 70 teams is exactly what Saban said was ideal
As for my picks FSU would be first so we could see them play a real schedule. I would take NC and Duke and both Virginia schools

This is the most likely scenario in my opinion.
Stanford and Notre Dame
Since it is a wishlist I guess I will go for teams that I want to beat more often. ND and Ohio St. I hate them both and would enjoy beating them.
Agree on this one. We have two teams from the west now, Tx A&M and Mizzou. Need two east teams.
Va Tech and NCSt would work just fine.
You guys are making the SEC way to difficult! Bring in South Alabama and Tulane, then trade a&m for Texas. We need a few sorry teams to compete with the bottom feeders like Kentucky, Auburn, and Tennessee!
This is why I said GT & Clemson. I don't think either could sustain in the SEC.
New Member of The 247 Crew!
Texas to renew the rivalary with aTm it's a pipe dream but oh well and clemson or va.tech either or.
would love UVa...Charlottesville is a GREAT road trip...
UVa and Louisville...
1960 Les Paul
Ok, if we go to 16 teams let's have 4 divisions and an NFL style playoff and be done with it. Whoever wins that is better than anybody else anyway.
UNC and Virgina... I just can't get excited about va tech for some reason
I'd try to add
I don't see why we don't solidify the state of Texas. It's poise to double in population in the next thirty years. That would be just a fruitful as going after the NC and DMV markets IMO.
"Hey, hey, hey. A life. A life, Jimmy, you know what that is? It's the shit that happens while you're waiting for moments that never come."
Cville is a great town
Spent many a great weekend there
HeII lets just go all the way to 20 teams! F$U, Texas, OU, VATech, Clemson and NCState! Now everyone is happy!
I don't want any more teams. Even if others go to 16 teams, we have enough. I'd like to play the eastern division teams more often than once or twice a lifetime. Conference is tough enough as it is.
The next two teams will be comprised of teams that 1) solidify the geographical boundaries of the SEC and 2) open up major TV markets. Therefore, think below the Mason-Dixie line and television sets. Smaller but other important factors will be strength on academics and men's basketball program versus overall athletic programs. The most obvious choices involve 2 states:
1) VIRGINIA (DC & VA television market)
UVA - Charlottsville (preferred BEST all-around)
VA Tech (BEST Fit & MOST Likely)
2) NORTH CAROLINA (Charlotte & NC Research Triangle television markets)
Duke (preferred BEST all-around)
UNC (BEST Fit)
NC State (MOST Likely)
3) DARK HORSES (Geography / Natural Rivalries / Good All-Around Programs)
I hate this. I don't want anymore teams.
If I had to...I guess I'll go:
