It's easy to teach. It's all about discipline and we show tremendous discipline on the defensive side, so we're capable. Probably hurt recruting though, if we recruited offensive players to begin with.
I've loved the Princeton offense ever since the day I watched Pete Carril's team slice up some higher rated opponent using backdoor cuts and good passing. I never understood why more programs didn't try to run it. I agree with you - I'd love to see Bama running it but I highly doubt we will. I'm a CAG fan but I've never quite understood Bama's offensive philosophy.
What? And replace our current philosophy of not scoring? (G)
I do like that offense. Maximizes low scoring talent with scheme and fundamentals.
Never Gets Old
Love the Princeton Offense, But how can we replace our current 1-4 O, 1 guy dribbles, 4 guys stand still......
Yeah the Princeton was a breeze to pick up and execute.
Signed the 2012 L.A. Lakers under Mike Brown

So now we're comparing the Lakers to this or any Bama basketball team? Come on that's a little ridiculous. Unless u just forgot the (g)
Wow, I hope you're being sarcastic. If you think that was the true Princeton Offense, you should probably pick another sport to watch. The Princeton Offense is just about the easiest offense to teach in basketball. Whether a professional player wants to run and/or play in it is another story. I could probably teach even you how to run the Princeton Offense in about 30 minutes. Why do you think girls basketball teams employ it so much?
I don't know how many of you have actually coached basketball but teaching and running an offense completely different. You can have all the talent in the world and get beaten by a sound team that knows how to run a system (i.e. UAH). I am pretty good friends with Coach Acuff and you would not believe how difficult it is to run his offense. Running this offense as a team is difficult...if one person doesn't understand what they are supposed to do the system does not work. I don't think Alabama's team fits this offense at all because we don't have enough guys who can make 3's consistently.
Bama needs to hire Acuff if they look to make a change!
Roll Tide / Go Chargers!
The original post was made tongue in cheek. I know Anthony Grant isn't going to run the Princeton Offense. However I stand by my statement that it is an easy offense to teach. It is based on the fundamentals of basketball and discipline. Discipline isn't easy to teach but the Princeton Offense is. If you have kids that can't run it it's because they don't want to or don't have the discipline for it. Period.
