I totally agree with you. I don't CARE what GMac is doing at practice---LOTS of coaches have tried out players "on the field" that were though to be subpar in practice, with the chance of some of them turning out to "turn it on" "under the lights". There is no WAY Sanchez is a better QB than GMac...Zero. Zilch. Nada. Null.
Just get him out there, rex, let him get in a rhythm---of course, the chance for doing that were best last year, when there was nothing to lose. This year, they're gonna win the Super Bowl, of course (smh)...

I go with the proven winner! GMAC!
Burn baby burn. & Go to hell tennessee
Finally someone who agrees with me...I thought yall had all disappeared...
^^^ doesn't get paid to evaluate NFL talent
Apparently neither does Rex Ryan or anyone on Jets staff. Lost all cred when they brought in Tebow and signed Sanchez to that rediculous contract.
Never Gets Old
When a grammatical error is too dumb for the BOLism thread......it's pretty egregious.
BTW, if not for Rex Ryan, future hall of famer Greg McElroy probably wouldn't have been drafted at all.
I'm not saying McElroy should start. I'm just saying that organization is terrible.
Right, I'm sure most fans on the internet could run a team better.
I'm not saying I can. But considering they're drafting ninth it appears 23 of the 32 NFL are better.
You can't base an opinion on that. I do think that Rex Ryan and Rob Ryan are two of the biggest losers in the NFL though.
IDK, but overpaying mediocre players, poor draft evaluation, stupid free agency moves, and a bad win/loss record seems a viable basis to judge an organization by.
I will argue for the coaching staff that they usually know a little more about a player's abilities than the average fan. In this case, however, I see no harm in playing GMAC just to see if he is a gamer. They already know how bad the other 2 are. So what's the harm in trying?>
I think if it gets ugly this year, and he is still on the roster, they will give him a shot. Last year they just werent ready to throw in the towel.,,, of course playing GMAC is probably the best chance they actually have.
Does anybody in this thread even remember last season when they benched Sanchez for McElroy to start against a pretty bad Chargers team and he was sacked 11 times, a franchise record?

Which is why they played in the AFC championship game two years in a row before this season, IYO?
The last 2 seasons have been 8-8 and 6-10. And losing in the AFC championship 2 years (his first 2 seasons as coach) in a row before sliding back is validation. Sounds like their personnel moves really have them trending up.
Auburn won the national championship a few years ago too. Does that mean their program is good NOW? And no, the Jets have played two seasons since their last AFCC appearance.
The NYJ are a complete train wreck of an organization right now. I haven't read this entire thread but I'm assuming you're a Jets fan because I can't understand why anyone would try to argue otherwise. Their QB situation is a complete joke...an abject disaster.

I'm not a Jets fan at all. I agree they're a bad team that will likely be worse next year. I agree they need an upgrade at the QB postion. If Greg McElroy were the answer to their problems he'd be playing. They gave him a shot to start (against a bad team no less) and it was brutal. Anybody who thinks he should be starting in the NFL is just a Bama homer, end of story.
